Finally back to the best MMO
Great video. A Realm Reborn suffers greatly from the failure of 1.0 I'd suggest watching the noclip documentary or the Speakers Network's Fall and Rise series to gain a full understanding of why ARR's story and progression is a tad bit sub par in comparison to the expansion content.
There is a free trial where you can play up to level 60 for free. I was REALLY enjoying the game but I found out that if you want to play the full experience you have to pay $60 for the game and an expensive monthly subscription. So I ended up putting down the game because I didn't want to get further invested in a game that would be so ridiculously costly. I've been playing Dead by Daylight and I just got Moonlighter today.

the music and lore is what caught my attention years ago but the monthly sub and the way things are irl atm its not something easy to commit too, honestly i don't play mmo,s like i used to so im sort of looking forward to it.
good to hear both the good and bad about the game die hard fans are rather bias and dont tell newcomers the bad lol.
20:50 believe it or not, about half a year ago they patched the game to remove and streamline a lot of A Realm Reborn quests. They removed something close to 70 quests to make the game less "ping pong-y". There is still an issue of a lot of quests being talk to NPC and then another NPC, but it used to be a lot worse lol welcome to the game
This is a very fair review and I don't disagree with the opinions express in it so speaking as someone who has played the game since launch it's always very interesting to me to watch reviews about the game from a new player in the game's current version.

I strongly recommend playing Heavensward as Lancer/Dragoon.
so your point with the cash shop is taken but off. most of the most coveted mounts in the game are earned and not purchased. alot of hte stuff on the shop is actually old event items and stuff.
just to clarify, the major content on cash shop are items that you can get on past events
Once you start playing the next expansion, you'll change your mind
Btw by the time you reach level 80, your skill kit will almost double in size and you'll get more going on in fights
Here is the biggest reason why the CAsh Shop for FFXIV is much more forgiving and acceptable for me…
Already IN the game itself, there is a PLETHORA of amazing Glamour, Mounts and things you can aim for. I nthe game itself you can aim for ALOT of tremendous mounts, rare mounts, outfits from every dungeon is amazing, or to farm with tomestones. Emotes are so n so but there are some you can get via questing. The game on its own rewards you with so many things, another reason why the people don't even know about the cash shop. Infact while some cash-shop mount look good, many of the ingame mounts look even BETTER, like the Golden Phoenix mount, Amaterasu, or some of the savage-raid mounts as well.
Alot of other MMORPG including WoW and such, not only shoves the Cash Shop into your face or have it peeking in the corner of the HUB, the so-called "rare" stuff aren't actually in the game at all, and those that exists are either bland, easy to get, EXACT same model but different color and so forth so forth. Hardly rewarding at all, and you KNOW every rare-looking gear/mount/etc is clearly brought from the cash shop. BDO I think still has the RIDICULOUS "good end-game gear" to look horrendous, literally just…GRASS over your body, literally encouraging players to buy the cosmetic outfits FROM their cash shop just to hide it.

When you already love ARR you wil fucking love Heavensward. Story, CHaracters, Classgameplay, Dungeons/ Raids & last but not least the Music. Evertyhing is so much
improved you won't regret it. Lastly, Welcome to Eorzia and FF14 ^^.
The shop represents about 1% of all available mounts/armor.
I think the reason people downtalk ARR is simply because they compare it to the later expansions.Compared to WoW or GW2, ARR doesnt have anything to fear. And yes, its the journey that matters here.
