  1. Thank you for this amazing series and well, all the other amazing stuff you've done! It got me into FF XIV… though not likely going to be playing for the next few weeks since XBC 3 just came out, heh.

All Hail Durmin! Deliverer of Snacks and Thwacks!

  2. Curious what side content besides the raids Dan is going to do for Heavensward. Another job storyline? MNK would be appropriate going into Stormblood. Can't really think of much else that's story-relevant. Hell, even the Alliance Raid series for HW is fairly self-contained (as are the rest of them going forward really). The 8-man raids all have some significance, but the Crystal Tower is the only Alliance Raid series so far to be MSQ-relevant. There is the Warring Triad storyline, I suppose, which….*might* become relevant due to a character that's introduced there? FFXIV players who are caught up with the story should know who I'm talking about. But so far that character is only tangentially related.

  3. You made me a fan of a game I wouldn’t have played otherwise Dan, I was extremely hesitant about this series at first and now it’s my favorite series at play frame. Thanks Dan 😊

  4. 29:45 This is the second time in the game that we get the tune "The Maker's Ruin" during a boss fight. Given that this is the WoL's leitmotif, I always wonder, did the Ascian Prime stop for a moment during its battle to consider, "Wait, why am I hearing boss music?"

Oh, and just as a note, on the 2nd boss, when Snow got blasted during the anti-machina mode? That can be avoided if one other person stacks up on the targeted person.

  5. I hope you show the storyquests of the restoration of ishgard/the crafter storyline.
It shows a lot of development of the town after the events of the .3 patch.

  6. I love this playthrough so much! I always wanted to play the game, but don't have the time to play it in the way it deserves… Being able to experience it this way is awesome.
    Thanks Dan and Carrie!

  7. Quick request, because I imagine you're planning ahead for Stormblood: there's an optional sidequest for flying in The Fringes that introduces an alarming Garlean bioweapon that would be good to incorporate into your plan. I also hope we're seeing The Paths We Walk. (I think the only raid sidestory that is entirely disconnected from the main plot is the Nier raid, although Sky Pirates does come close – it connects to the War of the Magi, something that's extremely easy to miss if you're not a black mage, white mage or scholar, and a few scenes in Endwalker that adjust if you haven't done it.)

  8. I'm wondering if you're going to do the Ishgard Restoration quests. They're crafter/gatherer content, but they're also kind of the final resolution of the whole Ishgard story line. But then to really resolve the Restoration you need to do two separate custom delivery clients to the conclusion of their stories too. That's a lot of fluff content for a few important morsels.

  9. WTF happened with the archbishop? He became a giant, turned the eye into a sword and manifested armour, how exactly? There were no crystals around to summon a primal. And what happened to him and the Heavens' Ward? How did Estinien turn the sword back into the eye?

  10. I didn't like Midgarsmr in the beginning but he grew on me by this point. Also, anyone else was like "read the room" as your character rode back to Ishgard?
Also, I shall inquire again that Durmin should meet with a certain agent 🙂

  11. This game is one I'm tryin to get through myself, I'm up to Mor Dhona in the MSQ in ARR but enjoying finding out the story of the story to come and done in such an amazing way and one I hope to experience myself in my own time… This story is amazing and from being told and watching this can only get better and better. Thank you for this!

  12. You gotta wonder: if people's faith can make even people who really existed into these god-like beings, and the way they are remembered can affect their goals and personallity, and now with the knowledge that the primals' powers also come from Hydaelyn, I wonder if the warrior of light can be considered a primal at some point

  13. This finale turned out rather weak. While they have good ideas, the execution was done poorly. A railroaded story without interesting twists and major consequences. Yes, there have been great changes, but it just feels like status quo has been reestablished and some no longer needed NPCs were eliminated.
    – Maybe I have missed something, but I think we did not learn why the archbishop needed to go to Azys Lla to become a primal, when his knights had been able to transform before.
    – Estinien's fate had been foreshadowed multiple times, but him succumbing to Nidhogg felt arbitrary to me.
    – There should have been some in turmoil in Ishgard, because the archbishop certainly had powerful allies in their society. People who would desperately cling to power.

  14. Just a quick tip, if you have damaging OGCD use them when they are not on cooldown, to weave during your GCD rotation, especially on bosses, helps take down faster, I noticed during some fights you weren't using them, its free damage, other than that I'm glad you're enjoying the game

  15. Heavensward went different places than I thought. I thought by the end of the expansion we would have found out the fates of each of the missing Scions, also I thought the fact you secretly had the blessing of a dragon was going to come up as a big point of conflict with the extremely anti dragon Ishgaard.
