I know some of it is likely due by your excitement, but still π
As a veteran player, I love watching new players first reactions to the Opening cutscene it's just wonderful. And then watching the new leafs running around doing quests and dungeons….from the smallest lalafell to the tallest male aura it's just gives me the fuzziest feeling akinned to looking at a puppy. π₯°βΊ
It's wonderful to see new people playing ffxiv. It makes me happy to see we are gaining more and more players. To bad your not on my Data center but I'll be looking forward to visiting when data center visiting is allowed in Endwalker. Enjoy Warrior of Light!

The true FF14 experience starts at Heavensward (the first expansion) ARR have a lot of it's 1st version and it's change a lot in Heavensward, this is the best MMO nowadays, the end game is incredible fun… Specially if you played FF on consoles, a lot of Classical Bosses,Music and classes are there…

Local man mind blown by game with actual budget, well written storyline, dev team that doesn't actively insult and belittle its playerbase, meaningful content and actual RPG character progression.
Whoa! Welcome to the game! And nice choice on the Arcanist (my first class too good 6 years back). Books and Carbuncles (pets!) are totally my thing until I discovered the star charts and Yugi-oh deck of the Astrologian (a card shark Healer giving steroids to whomever they choose) come Patch 3.0.
Once you get to the meatier parts of the game (level 30 onwards), you'll be able to unlock Job quests, which allows you to upgrade a Class into something more specialised – and Arcanist has the option to go two paths – one towards arcane destruction (Summoner), and one that brings the art of succor in the frontlines (Scholar). Since these branch out of the same Class, you level both Jobs at the same time!
This might not make sense at the moment but for now, enjoy the start of your new adventure! <3

Just a tip if you are going to narrate slow your speaking slightly so you can fully read the sentences as a lot of times the strange words have a lot of importance to the story.
GW2 is better
FF14 is an MMORPG thatβs wants to be a solo player game but doesnβt do it as well as real solo player games.
The story takes way to long to build to anything interesting. And you will spend most of your time running back and forth wasting hours of your time doing meaningless chores. The cut scenes are long and usually dull and boring with a few shining moments.
The world timers on abilities is a PITA.
My suggestion if you want story and actual good gameplay is either stat with GW2 or do ESO or Star Wars the old republic.

I just started about 2 months ago, just finished the 5.0 story. Never regretted one bit, never had an MMO that impacted me so much. The story especially once you get into Heavensward and after, rivals some of the best single player RPGs.
Dude love your energy and your enthusiasm for the game. Would love to follow you through the story. Just a warning, the combat and story are pretty bare early on, but once you get closer to level 60, it REALLY ramps up and gets crazy.
I started this game a day before this video (march 13th) lol I also started in Limsa as an Arcanist as well but I didnβt get the same intro I wonder why, maybe I forgot about something.. anyways Iβm in Stormblood now!! Heavensward was AMAZING I canβt wait til you experience it!

Ha, I've come from GW2 as well. Kinda burned out on the latter, the whole icebrood saga thing didn't really grab me the same way previous LW patches did.
I'm really happy to have tried it out. The expansions are just absolutely mindblowing.
