  1. No spoilers, but this definitely is not the end of FF14. We don't know exactly what form anything will take moving forward but the producer/director has confirmed they basically have at least a loose plan for another 10 years of content. He's called the game his "life's work."

  2. Speaking with Urianger after when you need to finish speaking with Yshtola is funny. He knows Thancred cant use magic, but thinks he, you and Yshtola are making copies/displacement magic, because he's seeing double XD

Also, Susanoo best Eikon. Never wanted to do anything but have fun and Bismark just being a happy whale. That scene brought much joy. <3

And finally: This is Thancred. </3

  3. Lol, you must have missed the huge community uproar during patch 5.3 when they said, "The final chapter in this star." Everyone was worried about the game ending and stuff but Yoshi-P has basically had to explain and announce that it is just the current story arc is being completed.

He even explained, that unlike the past expansion where the x.3 patch ties up the loose ends of the story, Endwalker is fully complete in 6.0. All patch content is now in building up the new story arc starting in 6.1 to the future 10 years.

  4. The duality of man exposed in this video.

"But will this continue, or is Endwalker the end of the game?"
    … "Wait, don't tell me."

Also, since you're at Ultima Thule, I wanted to pass a couple small bits of fun trivia. Kokkol, the lalafell engineer that worked on the aetherburner, and his search for Refined Adamantite is a reference to Final Fantasy 4. In that game, you must bring Adamantite to the dwarven smith Kokkol in the underground to acquire Excalibur.

Back in 2.x, you are told the legend of Great King Moggle Mog, about how the Moogles descended from on high by just lowering a really long rope from the clouds and being unable to climb back up it to return to the heavens. There is a mural depicting this ridiculous story back at the Annex in Sharlayan, it looks as goofy as it sounds.

Ragnarok, the ship's name, is a nod to Final Fantasy 8. In that game the fastest and most useful airship, literally found in space and capable of space travel, large enough to contain multiple save points and a whole host of NPC's, went by the same name of Ragnarok.

Lastly, Zodiark and Hydaelyn might look somewhat more surreal or otherworldly than other designs, even amongst other Primals. The reason is because their 3D models are directly based on the Amano artwork made to promote Endwalker.

  5. Fun fact: If you talk to Urianger after the "after we retire" talk, he's absolutely smashed.
Also, if you talk to Estinien before Alphinaud, he comments on your gawping, saying "Surely this isn't the first time you've seen me without my armor."

  6. This is exactly where I had to physically force myself to stop playing. I was falling asleep while playing and getting all confused so it was bedtime for me. Retrospect I’m super happy I did, because I couldn’t handle everything coming if I had been even a fraction as tired as I was. When I get sleep deprived I get just super weepy. As in, I cry over the most ridiculous crap imaginable lol so knowing how much and how hard I cried over everything coming when I was fully rested… yikes. Just keep all of the best times with everyone fresh in your mind and your heart and you’ll be able to finish the story. It’s literally the only thing that had me press on. Just get a fresh pot of coffee or tea ready and keep the tissues handy for all of the highs and lows (cus there are a LOT of both). This original story arc was one HELL of an adventure and I am so happy to say I’ve been on this ride since day one. This story has seen me through some of the worst days of my life and some of the happiest and I have truly bonded with every npc as a kind of therapeutic coping device. They actually feel like real friends thanks to the phenomenal writing. I’m so happy to see you enjoying this journey as much as the rest of us did. Through all the incoming tears just remember it all ties together and enjoy the ending to this story 😃
