As of 6.1 (latest patch), they introduce lottery housing.
You would place a bid for a plot. After the bid queue ends which was like 7 days when they first did it. You would find out if you won or lost. If you lose, you get back your bid gil. If you win, you have a set time limit to accept the bid and purchase the plot with the bid.

Yes you should do The coils raid, the quest starts in The Waking sands, the quest is called: Primal Awakening, a blue quest, you can find 7 other people and do it normaly or ask a level 80+ player to carry you so you can see the story at least, Its really good.
