  1. Lol. The "not comforting" description of the Aether Burner applies to a gasoline engine as well.

I felt that the Sharlayan Hamlet stuff was just a little too long, but it was all worth it for that scene with Moenbryda's parents.

  2. Timothy Watson's finest hour performing Urianger (and very validating since he's the only current FFXIV VA that basically replaced a legend).

The game plays cagey on whether there was a deeper affection between Urianger and Moenbryda, in either direction, and honestly I wish they'd just pushed all-in, because this scene reminds me so much of a scene in "Braveheart" (that featured no dialogue at all). Urianger obviously felt so responsible for her death just for having summoned her into (as he saw it) harm's way.

  3. I was listening to Moenbryda's mother during that scene, and omg that gave me tears love that scene with the 3 of them together! <3 You will be happy to know that she is voiced by the same actress from your favorite dulia chai in shadowbringers Mystic, if you listen closely from her first few lines!

  4. Fun note… these cutscenes change with the more extra content you complete from older expansions! It’s really worth it to rewatch these once you complete omega, the four lords etc quest lines for the different scenes. I’m not sure if it offers all the variations in the inn rooms or not since I’m also lacking content lol but from watching others, the cutscenes do change quite a bit with a lot more dialogue

  6. The Stone Torches (from the cutscene in Ul'dah) – Zimberk especially – are actually most involved in the Blue Mage questline, specifically the 50-60 part if I recall correctly. I don't recall interacting with them much otherwise!

  7. Speaking of fallen allies, I would advise doing some of the sidequests in Old Sharlayan when you get the chance. Let's just say that some of them happen to mention certain Scions.

  8. The "I'd brave an erupting volcano for a choice bunch!" option and Hythlodaeus' mention of Azem doing the same is actually a reference to one of the Shadowbringers short stories on the official website, named "Ere Our Curtain Falls." Azem was almost censured in the Convocation for saving a village under threat of an erupting volcano using dangerous creation magicks. When asked why they did it, Azem explained that the village had exquisite grapes. 🙂
