My reaction to the end of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn! HOLY GOD this ending was an emotional ride and I was HERE FOR IT. I cannot believe how much they packed into that ending but it makes me so excited for the rest of the game!
Also I tried to get this up pretty quickly so sorry if there are some chat/stream interactions that didn’t get edited out, I also wanted my full reactions to the really wild parts so I didn’t cut much out of the big exciting portion of the end ^-^ If a part you thought should be in here isn’t included, it’s likely bc I didn’t react to it in any sort of spectacular way.

I was pissed @8:35 when I first played through this. Nearly threw my keyboard across the room.
One thing I will never forget is how the trailer for this patch made it look like Tataru was crying at seeing Yugiri's face, cutting just before revealing it.

Glad you enjoyed 2.0! Now enjoy 3.0 onward, in which all the English voice actors are recast with good voice actors! A few actors from Game of Thrones even pop up! Granted, this also means no more Richard Epcar. 🙁
By the way, you can make that face any time on your own by doing the /alert emote. Took me awhile to figure that out on my own!
So much of the questing leading up to this was very boring when I played through it. But getting to the end of ARR and realizing that all of the characters and allies I had come to know had been stripped down to just Alphinaud and Tataru (with a little help from some friends) was amazingly bleak. It set such an unusual precedent for storytelling in video games. It was amazing the first time, and I look forward to going through it again on my new character.

God, the feels only intensifies going forward. Not gonna lie, watching people experience key(traumatic)plot stuff from FFXIV gives me life. Lol

On another note, anyone in the comments know Rauban's background with the lalafell? He serves one with extreme devotion and adopt another? Is it some paternal instinct due to size difference or what's going on there?
Mandatory bit of lore that people who started playing late might have missed: The Au'Ra race was made first playable in Heavensward, and the scene where we see Yugiri without her mask is also the first time we get a proper look at an Au'Ra. She was basically a big preview of things to come.
She looked so much on the chat that she missed a lot of key scenes lol
