  1. so far the story seems like kind of a plodding start to a mediocre JRPG, nothing stands out too much, even the people who you've mentioned you see again. Its been a little hard to follow, in that I just forgot what episode 3 was all about, and so i just went, watched the last 5 min again and remembered about the crown etc. nothing too interesting yet, but I trust, I trust that it does pick up. The videos tho, the videos are great, keep them coming.

  2. I keep forgetting how stilted the voice acting is in ARR. By the time I heard Minfillia for the first time, I'd had enough and switched to Japanese. It wasn't until I'd beaten the game and started watching playthroughs that I realized just how dramatic the improvement was in Heavensward through Shadowbringers. Endwalker is the first expansion I'm playing through in english.

  3. > Legatus Nael van Darnus–hells take him–intended to "cleanse" our realm by snatching the lesser moon Dalamud from the heavens and casting it down upon our heads. Desperate to prevent this lunatic scheme, we marched our forces to the Carteneau Flats and there met the VIIth Imperial Legion in battle.

    lunatic

Middle English: from Old French lunatique, from late Latin lunaticus, from Latin luna ‘moon’ (from the belief that changes of the moon caused intermittent insanity).

  4. Don't ever stop this series <3 I skipped the story to catch up to my friends and never cared to read up on it every expansion. This is a great way to truly understand the story. Your voice acting and humor make it even better <3

  5. “Im too young to own a suit!!”

With one gillion gil you could totally buy a suit from the place right across from the big aetherite. Its just a couple thousand for the best mans suit.

  6. oof, man, some of these old line reads are rough. There's a lot I love about the story, even some of these older bits, but I'm definitely looking forward to you getting into heavensward and the new cast.

  7. Ah yes, clean up this mess of an absolutely bloodless corpse, clearly the hard part of a corpse to clean up are the skin particles from the gaping chest wound that the sword would cause.

  8. THE TALE OF DURMIN

The story of Eorzea is a grand and sprawling narrative. One that, unfortunately, belies a simple telling broken up over months of individual sessions – including necessary if tragic breaks. In the interest of helping viewers remember the characters and terminology they have seen before I have taken the liberty of creating a pronoun glossary of sorts of Durmin's adventures.

A few notes before we get started (this text will be the same in every episode, so feel free to skip it in future episodes). First: And most importantly, this glossary is COMPLETELY SPOILER _SAFE_. I have manually built each entry from the episodes that preceded it; although I have played most of the game, I have taken every effort to just copy information from these videos. Second: This is not a story recap, most of the story will not appear here. This is just a glossary of terms. Finally: This little project turned out to be significantly more exhausting that I anticipated and while I am happy to continue, I will make mistakes. There may be missing information in these records, and I welcome any additions provided they can timestamp the text where the information came from. I also shift in and out of various tones as I get more and less tired, so please forgive these inconsistencies, I plan to slowly unify the tone over time now that 2.0 is complete.

I'll also be including fun facts about the glossary at the end of each expansion.

  9. I’m so glad I found this let play 😁, too many ffxiv let’s players don’t cut out the grinding or have a million friends with them talking over each other.
I tried to get into ffxiv but while I liked the story, the gameplay was boring to me, and while I found someone who uploaded the main story cutscenes I found reading them off a small screen very difficult.
