  1. The dungeon and the boss are FFIV references, the dungeon is Toroia, which was a matriarchal society. The boss is Scarmiglione, the archfiend of Earth named after one of the demons in Dante's Inferno. The first music is an alternate version of Toroia, the second music is the Boss music of FFIV.

  2. The crystal Y'shtola has is the crystal that we get from Hydaelyn that gives the route to Meteion in Ultima Thule. Because Venat tagged Meteion as she left for space so she knew where she was. After we beat Hydaelyn in the trial, we're given the crystal with the route to Meteion. So, it's implied in Y'shtola's dialogue that she's giving us back that crystal.

  3. So Cait Sith is properly pronounced "Cat Shee," but it's also a misspelling. It should be Cat Shithe, since the second word needs to be properly changed as a conjugated word, which would change the pronunciation to "Cat Sheeha," translating to Fairy Cat.

  4. if you notice, in the stephs of fait part of the trailer when the big dragon is breating fire, the animation start still with the aoe marker, they dont feel disjointed. i always hated how the animation start after the aoe marker disapear. i hope they do it like that from now on

  5. I would love to hear your opinion on the previous savage tier! (and maybe the new one as well?) Also will you be doing another podcast with gaijin after 6.2? I really enjoyed the last one 😀

  6. In FF4, Scarmiglione is the first of the 4 Fiends you fight. If FFXIV sticks with the order they appeared in FF4, Cagnazzo (the Fiend of Water), Barbariccia (the Fiend of Wind) & Rubicante (the Fiend of Fire) are next, in that order.

As a guy that got into fantasy games because of FF4, Endwalker is like Shangri-La.🥰

  7. I didn't care for the first few Pandemonium raid music pieces either. If that track in the trailer is P8, I may live in there. The Sky pirate stuff is apparently tied to the Tataru quest line. I've still never done that raid series.

  8. I hear you man. I wanted to play FF4 as a refresher going into this patch, but I'm also spread thin between the monster hunter patch and the fact that people have been coming back ahead of the patch in FF14 so people want to do stuff all the time, and I also STILL haven't done Hildebrand even though I want to. I need like 2 weeks off of work for this haha.
