You can do the EX fight solo unsynced, just make sure to farm enough damage on the body during the down phase before breaking the tail. If you fail to kill it during the first down window, you can still build up to another down window and kill it then, but it will enrage after that due to time.
I “helped” someone with this trial in PF the other day, only to die to the unexpected instakill. I had to watch this video just to figure out what killed me lol.
