Final Fantasy 14 Samurai Primer: Level 50 guide in detail

In this video, we take a look at the rotation of the Samurai as it looks when you initially unlock it. We look at the single target rotation, the particular 2 target rotation, as well as the general AoE rotation. We also look ahead at Hissatsu: Kaiten, as it is a major component of the Samurai Rotation overall.

If you find that some things are going a bit fast or a bit slow, I invite you to speed up, slow down or even pause the video for your convenience.

None of the melee DPS role actions are covered in this video, since they are situational abilities, however, as a little B side to the video, here are the recommendations if you are looking for that information:
– Second Wind heals you, so if you need healing and the healer isn’t about to heal you now anyway, use this.
– Leg Sweep stuns an enemy for a few seconds. You can use this to stop a caster from finishing their spellcast.
– Bloodbath makes you heal based on the damage you do for a while, so use this when you are taking a lot of damage.
– Feint reduces the physical damage done by the target for a while. This is really useful to help your tank deal with tank busters as these are often physical damage.
– Arm’s Length makes you immune to most knockback effects, but also makes enemies that hit you get an attackspeed slow for a while. You can use this second property if you happen to be tanking enemies.
– True North makes all actions you do automatically fulfill positional requirements. This does not actually do anything until level 52 when Samurai gets some positional requirements.

  1. Thanks. I've been wanting to try Samurai but it seems so complicated. This guide gave me a good idea of which skills primarily work together and where to add in other abilities. Now for practice.

Would like to add another thank you here, after watching several other videos on this class that speed run the abilities explanations/combos like you should already know them second nature this was a breath of fresh air as you explained step by step why things for the class work. 3. Thankyou for being slow and concise with the pictures and names, makes it so much easier when you literally only just got to samurai and have trouble with all the asian style stuff. Really just makes trying to learn that much easier.

  5. So easy job, feels great to play as well.
A tip for any job is to not think about abilities as rotations, but rather as priority system.
    1. Got buffs up?
    2. How many enemies?
    3. Do enemy live long enough for long duration dot?
    4. Repeat
