Final Fantasy 14 Rogue to Ninja guide: Level 1 – 50 in detail

In this video, I walk you through all of the weaponskiills and abilities that the Rogue, and later the Ninja, learns in the first fifty levels of the game. I explain and show examples for every action, and elaborate on when and where to use what, so you can safely approach the contents of the game. We take a short look at positionals in terms of backside specifically. Significant amount of time and visuals are also used to help you understand how Ninjutsus work, including explaining multiple different ways to cast each Ninjutsu, and explaining multiple ways of thinking of them and how to approach them!

Since the general rotation of the Ninja relies on a standard 1-2-3 combo to default to while waiting for higher token buttons to become available, I focus a lot more on how to use all these higher token tools effectively, than trying to describe a fixed rotation.

  1. Welcome to Endwalker! Here are any significant changes related to this particular guide:
Level 15: Throwing Dagger no longer cancels your current combo, so you can freely use this when out of range from targets. Also, the range has been increased slightly, which means, even with Ninja’s increased runspeed, you can use Throwing Daggers at exactly max range, and your GCD will be ready before you reach your target running regularly.
Level 30: Shadow Fang has been removed, so any places where this weaponskill is mentioned are now irrelevant.
Level 35: Katon has had its range increased slightly.
Level 40: You now learn the oGCD Assassinate, which should simply be used on cooldown for extra damage.
Level 45: Huton’s max duration has been reduced to 60 seconds, and the range of Suiton has been increased slightly.
RAITON is better than DOTON on a single target! This means, for all intents and purposes, that anywhere where Doton is recommended for a single target, it should be skipped.
Role Actions: Feint now additionally reduces magic damage, so you can use it almost at any time and always have some benefit.
