  1. For those of you going along with Rich's Rejoining I'ma just stop you there. The rejoining of soul fragments only works when both the Source and Shard are in elemental equilibrium so killing a random person on any random reflection wouldn't rejoin them with the rest of their 'self' on the Source, the soul would just be reborn in another body as per usual. That's why an elemental calamity is needed so that the flow of aether between Shard and Source turns into a one way torrent while also killing either all or the majority of people so that their souls can be absorbed and reincarnated with the missing piece attached. In essence the Shard and everything on it are absorbed into the Source with no-one the wiser for what actually happened.

All that means is you already have seven <spoiler> which means <spoiler spoiler spoiler> so imagine what would happen if you found some way to <spoiler>?

  2. Here is what the Ascians don't know. If everyone dies in the rejoining, each Calamity on the source killing thousands upon thousands. IF the rejoining is complete, there will be no one felt for the perfect world. They don't know what will happen if the rejoining is complete. The world is like a Tea Cup. If you shatter it and put it back together, it will not be the same.

  3. I love how Rich is piecing the story together. Alinity not killing off the blobs, Rich wanting to kill them off, with almost all the info was cool to see. One thing no player knows but is true is that only our star was split, so think what that does to the surround space as our star flies through the universe. It must be messing with space/time. Or not, however I so want a complete rejoining as Hydaelyn IS stagnation, and it seems that everyone is repeating their lives over and over and over, like Ryne. Maybe no new life, no new souls created, no one whom dies moves on, as long as the star is fragmented. Anyone ever thought of this?

  4. Rich really wants to genocide every other race, a total of 13 worlds(including the ones already lost) just to have a few of his perfect races and thinks that all other races are inferior. If this man keeps diging himself any deeper he will reach China at this rate.

  5. As we're getting closer to the end of ShB, I really hope chat lets Rich know about the Tales from the Shadow on the Lodestone site. At least the Ascian story, once he finishes 5.3 anyway. Learning those small details of extra story bits about Emet, Elidibus, and a couple noteworthy Ascians (including ????) is actually very big on the character building for them. Also the final Crystal Exarch one.

  6. I love how when Rich comes to a shocking conclusion about something in the story, he can't get any farther from being right. I know he does get some stuff. But I find myself asking a lot, "How in the actual hell did he come to the conclusion?" lol.

  7. Key thing Rich missed, the only society to manipulate the tower is the Allagans, specifically their royalty. There was only one Allag and that was in the Source. So unfortunately, as neat as his idea would be, it would contradict previously established lore.

  8. Y'know…I have a lot of things about Rich I'm not a fan of…but at the end of the day, watching a grown man lose his mind over a story that I myself (also a grown man) lost my mind over…it just makes me feel good. I'm REALLY glad he's enjoying the story, and I cannot WAIT to see him freak the fuck out over the finale. 😀

  9. I wish he understood how flawed his idea of the Rejoining is. I mean, I understand it. I get it. I know why he thinks it's a good idea, given the facts. But his analogy is all wrong. Those beings he is calling sad and suffering and imperfect….that scale is based on one man's point of view. The fragments don't see themselves as sad, suffering or imperfect. And they don't want to die to make another shard more perfect. You no longer have 14 shards of one person, you have 14 shards of one soul that have become 14 unique individuals with their own hopes, goals and dreams. They are insignificant to the Ascians, not worthy of being called "alive". But those people on the shards in their own worlds living very different and fulfilling lives….they might not see it the same way. That is why it's wrong. That is why it's genocide, despite what we may or may not learn going forward in the MSQ.
