Final Fantasy 14 Players Are Mad At Third Party Tools (For Completely Opposite Reasons)

In this video Xeno goes over the posts of 2 different types of Final Fantasy XIV players: one who is happy that third party tools and mods don’t work on the first day of the patch and the other who is mad that said third party tools don’t work. This is a great showcase of the duality of man LMAO

  1. Lol all 3rd party tools arent cheating at all 😂 but triggers in my opinion, as you said, agree to disagree. Unless you have a disability as a reason for needing em (bc lets be honest, accessibility in this game can still grow by a lot) then using em as a crutch just shows lack of skill. But i’d never go as far as raging on forums bc it doesnt affect me whatsoever 🤣

Edit: triggers after clearing on your own are perfectly fine i should add. Like, you know the content. You can raid without it. But that person claiming to be a minor and not being able to raid without it….seek jesus 🤣

  2. LOL If anyone seeing this please understand that updating coding is hard and its not easy. Updating plug in will take sometime depending what got affected during the patch. This is even worse since they dont have access to the development kit of the game (like how bethesda give development kit for skyrim for modders to use). ANd then again you never have to pay anything to use these tools so please be patient.

  3. I find it funny how the same people who complain and posturize about 3rd party tools conveniently remain silent or changed the goalposts when the devs actually brought in these QoL changes. The only issue that I see are the tools that explain an extreme or savage fight for you, and that you never stop using them. Best of all, you can't tell if someone's using them unless they tell you outright or you're familiar enough with the fight to notice their behavior.

Hell, I'd be ok with someone using the tools when trying to get into the harder content, since finding a group of 7 other people willing to take the chance on a new player learning a fight are already low. People act like finding statics is the easiest thing in the world, even when it's been months since the last tier drop.

  4. People always feel the need to involve themselves in shit that affects them in ZERO way. If you’re worried about how people play the game and how it affects your accomplishments, you’ve got some looking in the mirror to do lmao

  5. sometimes for act aka damage calc you have to redownload it, to get it to work again after updates sometimes, just a heads up for those that use act plugins as for trigger, or cacbot if someone is wondering what it does it simply puts text on your screen that says aoe, if it certain safe spots it just says n,s,e,w ect. but it doesnt put fake makers down for you to be head, and also doesnt move your character it basically the same as someone yelling in your ear where to move who is probably using cactbot anyways.

  6. I unfortunately can't play at all without XivAlexander working, playing from Brazil with 200ms makes weaving skills literally impossible without clipping GCD's (Stardiver has such a harsh animation lock that you will 100% of the time clip GCD's with a bad ping) I've been having to delay the new EX trial so I'm not a deadweight in terms of damage for my party finders lmao

  7. I remember back in Stomblood I had a mod that changed the sounds of the SAM abilities. Only that class was ungodly loud till it got toned down some. Give it till this weekend people who made the code would have either worked on it by now or are gonna get to it when they have free time. Its any MMO that has 3rd party mods. Warcraft always breaks addons for a few days or longer. Hell this past week in WoW there has been server wide bugs that force disbands all groups. Our raid in Vault got forced disbanded twice during a boss fight causing a wipe and reset. Ill take addons not working over this bug.

  8. I used to rely on plug-ins a lot to play, but because of this over-reliance, I've been unable to play during patch days because of it. So when the Abyssos tier dropped, I told myself that I'd play without all these QoLs and get myself used to it, so I'm not disrupted at all even when the plug-ins are not updated.

I do however miss the market board, crafting and gathering plugins, but I'll live.

  9. wait until the plugin maker decided to put it behind a paywall and everyone went mad again.

the 14 players i know are already gone, they're now a going to WoW raid direction by using plugin to raid.

  10. 3rd party plugins are super helpful for neurodivert folks in FFXIV. Our brains don't work the same way so it helps bring us up to the same level as neurotypical folks. Complaining that a free 3rd party tool isn't updated immediately, especially considering that squeenix are changing server architecture … that's cringe. Do better.

  11. I have never and will never use any sort of plug-ins or add-ons to do call outs for me for any game.
    Just get good, holy shit.
    "Unplayable without muh add-ons."
    'Get good /10character'

  12. i agree, i think a trigger is just like a raid boss yelling out calls, but i solo a lot and dont have a raid group so i would see the third party tools as having utility

  13. The only problem for me with plugins is when people rely only on that to the point they play literally another game and say the game is easy or "boring", but when the plugins vanish, they are mad to the point where looks like it was something from the begin to begin with.

  14. Idk, I don't really care people using 3rd party tools on PvE that tell them how to play as long as they respect the others not acting pedantic, being toxic and stuff alike, if they enjoy the game that way…

But bothering the devs who are enjoying the new patch, or what's even worse dealing with a broken netcode (something they can't fix), it's just not ok. If you can't clear without your radar plogon it's ok, but don't act like these devs owed you something because they're people working for free at the end of the day
