Final Fantasy 14 Patch 6.28 Notes Make Xeno MALD

In this video Xeno goes over the Patch 6.28 balance changes for Final Fantasy XIV and reviews the changes themselves but also the written Job Guide From Square Enix. Many Jobs got buffed this patch, including Xeno’s favorite Warrior, but the buffs might still not be enough to bring Warrior’s damage to the level of Dark Knight DPS.

  1. Those Developer Comments are so sloppy and generic that I wonder if this is FFXIII SE all over again.. + the Reason why they do those Dev Comments is the Kaiten Removal, which they still not have commented on.

  2. You only have to look at the healer kits from Stormblood to the present day to know that there is absolutely no internal coordination within Yoshida's team when it comes to either balance or even just ensuring that jobs are relevant in the content. The 4.0 patch notes for healers read like a completely different game to what we actually got, it was wild.

  3. as war main I see this buff and I should feel excited, but tbh all it does is makes me feel indifferent since this late in the patch actual dps is irrelevant due to ppl already having gear. When it did matter on week 1 it wasn't there one of the few times I had to switch to something other than what I preferred playing; is it a big deal? no, I'm just disappointed. I just want SE when they release the next tier to balance it properly.

  4. People get mad when something gets over buffed. So they moved to minor buffs/nerfs to potency to bring things into balance. Then people get mad cause it's not big enough changes. There's really no winning for SE.

  5. The actual copy paste on some of the explanations was definitely unimpressive, if not kind of insulting? It felt like whoever wrote that up was trying to finish a project right before a deadline and we got a minimum viable product. That said, as someone who enjoys casters from time to time, I'm not mad at the summoner or black mage buffs. Red mage seems ok, but I haven't tested it yet, so it might be a bit more underwhelming.

  6. Mch buffs should roughly result in a 2.5% overall dps increase, between that and the bard buff all 3 phys ranged should now be contributing about the same damage on average. That said the lack of healing utility and mobility options for mch will continue to hold the job back if all its doing is parity damage with bard and dancer. Hopefully in 6.3 SE will finally rework some of their actions.

  7. get rid of the obnoxious 5% range tax!!! Everyone whi cares about that tax is already in a group where melee have as much uptime as ranged!!! Or change the fights so melee have 5% forced dowtime(would be horrible)

  8. XIV could seriously be The Best MMORPG out there….but it's not because x,y,z reason. I can't wait until this expansion/hell is over with, so we can see how they're gonna try to fix all these issues. They got a lot on their plate, and that's not even considering the MSQ. imo, Devs need to drop this "Never Ending Story" Stance for AT LEAST One Expansion to focus on everything else that truly Needs their attention.

  9. i definitely get what Xeno is saying about being upset at the adjustment overview, but at the same time, none of these adjustments are affecting the playstyle in anyway whatsoever. If these changes made the rotation change, I think a more of an explanation would be needed. for Sage, I think they were getting at "different playstyles" meaning that, if you are a GCD healing spammer, you will still feel the damage increase regardless.

  10. It’s a minor thing, probably an overworked team forgetting to write the little blurbs until the last min but it’s still funny. Some mid level manager is probably yelling at some intern whos job this was…

  11. Machinist absolutely needs its raid buff back. Even if it didnt actually change their performance it would feel less shitty. being bottom 1 rDPS and having absolutely nothing to show for it fucking sucks and i await the day they announce a Machinist rework.

  12. The summoner changes are very good changes as well. The explanation could easily have been way better. Talk about how the buffs will raise the dps floor at all skill levels, but will also widen the gap between good and and great summoners. Holding 4 festers for the buff window is now rewarded even more highly, rushing a primal summon is now even more viable in certain situations. Literally just needed to spend 5 minutes typing out a real explanation.

  13. I wish they would remove Raise ability from Casters so BLMs and other casters can get proper buffs. Make it so only healers can raise, and let everyone be able to use Phoenix Downs and have it share CD with the Potions instead. Keep seeing BLM this below the support/melees is pretty infuriating when they say they make jobs do X damage based on difficulty of Jobs and seems everyone agrees on BLM is the hardest to play fully
