  1. I see you have finally gotten your firsthand experience at the game's trial fights. Trials are basically one big boss fight alongside other players.

I noticed during the fight that you were taking a ton of damage from the AoEs, A word of advice during these is that you should zoom out your camera.

Also, The bosses in this game are not what you expect out of the usual RPG, where you only need to do your attacks and watch your health, they have mechanics unique to the fight itself that you need to dodge (in this case, whenever Ifrit casts a firey eruption) or properly interact with (destory the nail Ifrit places)

this is key because the next Trial might be a doozy for newer players especially ones that play a dragoon.

Unless you wanna be called a Floor Tank that is LOL

Love your playthroughs man and I eagerly await your next livestream of FFXIV

  2. Hey Gamersphere, you should have received some Waking Sands tickets in your inventory from a quest you did a few episodes ago that will teleport you back to the headquarters without having to run. It's a nice time saving mechanic if you need to pray, return to the Waking Sands.

  3. Like Jean said, you should really zoom out and lift the perspective so you can actually see what's happening around you and on the floor. I was clenching my bum when I saw you stand in two overlapping fire aoes (area of effect attacks) during Ifrit. Also, you get a damage buff from Disembowel (the white icon on your 10th hotbar slot) that lasts for 30 seconds if you combo it with True Thrust. Try to never stand in front of the boss, as they often do frontal cleaves that tickle the tank, but knock a lil' old you off your feet.

It might be a good idea to have the chatbox visible during fights, in case your team members have advice to give.

  4. Although A Realm Reborn is a grind, it sets a lot of groundwork and ties 1.0 and 2.0 together. It is a necessary evil, you could say. The positive side is that it eases players that have never touched an MMO to the game. Usually MMOs just throw you into it with a small tutorial and that's it. But in ARR the content keeps adding more and more layers over time, which can be frustrating at first. The dungeons, rotations and mechanics feel very simple to someone who has played MMOs before or has played XIV before, but I think they do a good job introducing new mechanics with each instance. Hang in there, it'll be worth it in the end, I promise you. Heavensward truly feels like it could be set in Tactics world with its political intrigue and multilayered cast.

  5. Hey, just a tip so the screen is less cluttered: You seem to have very high HUD sizes, which you can scale down in: System configuration -> Display Settings -> High Resolution UI Settings. I have a feeling your's is turned up to 150% or 200%. Putting that setting to 100% will make the HUD smaller and less cluttered.
