FFXIV's Oceanic Servers: pros, cons, and what we know so far…



Square Enix announced that Oceania will be getting their own Final Fantasy XIV datacenter back in May 15 of this year. Since then, complications with a pandemic and a lack of available server infrastructure has put the project back to Patch 6.1 in the new Endwalker expansion.

In this brief video we’ll go over the benefits and drawbacks of deciding to bail on your (likely) Japanese realm for Australian pastures, as well as the information we’ve been able to gather so far on the project.

Is it worth leaving your free company for? Can you survive on a FFXIV world populated with antipodeans? Are those gold chocobo feathers really all that valuable? Well, only you can decide that.
