  1. The next sequence was what I’d like to call over-the-top fanservice for fan girls and people that hated the character combined. Source: me, a fan girl that didn’t want to say goodbye.

  2. What a banger. If this sounds familiar, that's because it is: it's a medley of the Final Fantasy theme and every final boss theme in FFXIV (Ultima [ARR], Heroes [HW], The Worm's Tail [SB], and Invincible [ShB]).

Couldn't be a better sendoff for this amazing expansion. Bravo, Soken! (And bravo to the rest of his music team who don't get as much recognition!)

  3. It was hard to stay focused during this fight, because it was an amazing medley of some of my favorite songs in all of gaming let alone FFXIV. Such an amazing amazing song that I cannot wait to buy and play on repeat for years. XD

  4. i was joking with my friend how friggin cool it would be to fight the last boss with Zenos. But i never expected them to actually do it. I have never been so hyped in my life.

  5. I knew they would find a way to put Maker's Ruin in the final trial.
WoL's triumph over the biggest enemy at the end of a saga just wouldn't feel complete without that song

  6. It's pretty cool seeing summoner use the primals at their command, especially in this fight. With them and zenos come together, it's like the whole planet has joined forces and are fighting back against impending doom.

  7. I legit cracked before this fight when Zenos just popped out saying, "Hey I know that this folk is your prey, why she is still alive though?" He might be bland or doesn't have deep reason on wanting to fight WoL but he sure is fun around when he just pop out like no one's business.

    HOLY SHIT THAT WAS EPIC!!!!!!!!!!

  9. Glorious expansion, glorious music and the story…It's like Witcher 3 the first time you play it. Once you finish it, you find other games…lesser. It raises the bar that unfortunately far too few games strive to match it much less overcome.

Especially at the end…Insanely excited as to what new story will come out in 6.1, they have so many venues to go but I trust them that whatever they choose it will be great. I can't personally say that for other games especially wow.

  10. This is definitely Yoshitaka Suzuki's work. It sounds so much like his style and he's also literally the one who arranged the final boss themes: "The Worm's Tail", "Ultima" (with Nobuko Toda), "Heroes Never Die" (Extreme only), and "Invincible". This has all of them, except for maybe "Heroes Never Die" since it sounds more like "Heroes" instead.

  11. You know, the Phase 2 part reminds me of "Serpent eating the Ground", the final boss theme from Bravely Default. Not musically, but thematically, more specifically the part where we hear the heroe's themes going off one after the other: after a hard journey, from nobody to hero, to pariah, to ender of the Dragonsong, to liberator of Doma and Ala Migho, to safekeeper of the First… when that riff hits, when "The Maker's Ruin" hits… You know you can't lose. After all you went through, this is YOUR moment. Honestly, they could've decided to end the story of the game there and it would be the best Final Fantasy ever created.
