  1. I still keep my sub for Pyro running, I had a great time in his streams really. It's sad that people get so defensive over nothing really. I personally don't have anything bad to say about the game myself, quite happy with where it's at, even as addons go, I never really used anything besides ACT for personal improvement but since it's running in the background, you can have that even while streaming.
However I do understand some of the frustration people feel with the game. Be it something little in the UI or bigger probles that addons can fix and I 100% agree that some of the stuff should have been in the game for a long time already and I understand why people would want to use addons and feel like having to get ridd of em is a kick in the nuts.

At the same time tho, you see others using some BS addons that make raiding trivial so it's also understandable people feel very strongly about addons and want to see none of it. It's difficult. If I had to stop using ACT, I'd feel blind and very unsure about my own performance which would really suck some of the enjoyement out of the game for me as well.

Can't really watch much Pyro at the moment as I got very busy with work but I hope I'll be able to return one of these days and have a great time. Wish people would just leave him alone but again, complicated subject…

  2. people don't hate Pyromancer, generally. They just don't want to give him a second chance, because people feel like it's just going to be more of the same. He's a very passionate person, and sometimes that passion gets directed at the people it really shouldn't, his viewers. People who watch FFXIV streams aren't there to get raged at, they are there to just have a good time.

  3. Not a regular viewer of his, but from what I saw think Pyro got put under a microscope because he happened to express frustration in video media instead of text tbh. Lodestone and twitter are pretty full of established fans raging, and frankly some of those people read as malicious and downright creepy to me. Seen people talk about wanting to personally isolate and punish developers over there.

Pyro might have room to self-improve sure (which is p. normal imo), but legit he didn't freak me out the way some fans do.

  4. I find some flaws in his logic here, I think people reacted badly to his console bad outburst is because he was talking out of his ass and at the same time getting angry at his own viewers and potentially offending any of them that might have been a console player. I cleared my first ultimate on console with nothing more than discord running on my phone. Sure it doesn't look as good and framerates drop in some places (i hear p8s at the moment is pretty bad on ps4) but it can still be played at a high level with controler and without add ons. Trying to say its because he was raging about ff14 or console players is kind of dodging any fault on his part. On top of that, in general people lose interest in FF content creators once they finish the story, watching msq reactions is a big draw for a lot of the viewers so his audience would likely have gotten smaller after that anyway regardless of his rant.

  5. Honestly, Pyro is reading the situation around his last rant wrong. He raged against console support, that is true, but the issue was when someone actual says they like the console version, he attacked him and any other person who dared to not share his opinion. Sadly, that is a common theme among people these days, they just don't respect that people have different opinions.

  6. PS5 is the best experience for FFXIV, in my opinion. The graphics are great, frame rate is good, and can play it on the big screen. Also, the haptic feedback with the controllers is nice. Loading is super fast as well.

Of course, I am partial to the controller, and when I play on PC even use my game pad for that.

  7. I don't think anyone should have a problem with him being a content creator for XIV, since anyone is really able to do it…but the problem I believe leans more into the way he talks to his viewers. There's been more than a few times he's lashed out at the people watching, and if they don't agree with him or if they pose different points that he doesn't agree with, he throws out bans and belittles them. He acts like this is just about the game, but it's also about the people he interacts with in and outside of the game. IMO, rage at the game all you want, but if I pose an idea or say something in your chat that you don't agree with, don't call me an idiot and ban me or talk shit. That's how you end up with people trolling you, unsubbing, and deciding they are unwilling to give you another chance, cuz you're proving with that behavior that your audience doesn't actually mean a thing to you unless they give you an echo chamber.

  8. I honestly think his personality and the "defense force" as you called them doesn't mix. Pyro is a good guy and very passionate, he's stated over and over again how he loves the game. But damn, people are really trying to crucify him over his opinion about console play? I play console and get teased by my brother who plays p.c, so the hell what. Play how you like. Sheesh people…

  9. Sadly, most peoppe who watch FF14 streamers do so because they want to relive the MSQ through them and once they complete it, unless the streamers themselves are very entertaining, most will leave once they wring them out of the MSQ experience. It's something that I hate to acknowledge, but it does indeed happen. It's a blemish on an otherwise beautiful painting.

  10. At somepoint we have to just accept that some people are assholes. And you will likely not change their mind. Especially by yelling at them. We do have our "toxic" ffxiv streamer everyone will poiny yo xeno and arthars. I think pyro doesn't understand that they 1 admit to being "toxic" and 2 are less likely to be personally tiggered by someone. Its one thing to meme flame om someone in chat. And another thing to take it personally and make it ugly. He also doesn't seem to have a thick skin at all and takes everything personally. To me as a viewer this is a turn off. It's one thing to meme (or make a serious critique) but it's different when you make it personal. And in pyros case he can't move forward.

I guess I'll conclude by saying yes the people who egg him on need to leave him alone. But he also brings it to when someone has a valid counter in his chat, i really think this is the big reason why his following went down. If you are going to make a big conclusory statement. Accept that others are going to disagree. I've watched him flame someone who gave a non troll response. Which is only going to give both the actual trolls and the people who wanted a conversation fire to use against him. He's being his own worst enemy. He can't control the trolls but he can control his reaction to them.

  11. XIV does have a problem with criticism and gatekeeping and all those types of things, but I don't think Pyro can blame that here. I'm sure some of it is, but he really needs to stop playing a victim and look at the incidents.

When he raged at WoW it was seen positively because everyone has a breaking point, and that's understandable. And it was around the time when WoW hate was at an all time high because of bad game decisions but also bad real world decisions that affected people in a way more serious way. So yeah, fuck em, get love for saying it too. However his controller rant just seemed like he was having a baby fit. It was over something stupid, and people recognize a pattern of behavior forming. Seeing how easy he is to set off. Not to mention it came off condescending and dismissive of players, not corrupt criminals and people in power. I'm sure he is right to a point, but not taking enough responsibility makes him seem like a fake victim and a baby.

  12. Pyro should try playing other games in between patches. I think trolls are taking advantage of the lul. God of War is coming soon and will be huge. He could try Crisis Core hell I’m not sure if he tried Remake yet.

There’s plenty of things to do,

  13. The "final fantasy" defense force is not as big as you like to portray, nor is it in any way shape or form "powerful". I can't tell if you're saying this for content or if you unironically believe this.

  14. See, I don't watch Pyromancer, I didn't like the controller thing because I've had to deal with PC elitists at the time which got annoying but I never attacked the poor guy. I just vented my frustrations on the video you posted on it and then went on about my day.

I do believe in second chances for everybody (unless you do something vile like murder someone) so I think Pyromancer doesn't deserve all this hate from the community, especially when it comes to criticizing the game to see it get even better. Trust me, as someone who came from Destiny 2, not criticizing games can ultimately hurt the game in the long run

  15. FF14 is like a cult. Everything is cool and gucci and everyone is real nice (too nice) when you are part of it. But got forbid you play another game or say anything good about another game (religion) and anything bad about their cult. Then watch your bottom, bout to get rammed. Now that I no longer play, looking at all of the drama outside, with the knowledge of a previous player so I have context. There is a ton of toxicity in the FF14 community, more drama than anywhere else I have been in the past decade. Compared to destiny 2, monster hunter series, and lost ark amongst other games I have experience with.

  16. Im surprised SE has not figured out who these folks are and banned them by now. the defense force is the major problem in the community they keep folks from expressing any opinion that doesn't toe-the-line to there idiology. and i refuse to bend the knee and kiss that ring.

  17. I love FFXIV on my PS5, I don't feel I get a worse experience than PC. Unless you want to include mods and the like. But I've never felt like I was getting the lesser version. I also don't hate pyro, but the clips I've seen just make it so I don't want to watch him, too much emotion for me personally. He can also dislike what he wants, doesn't make him an awful person. He just has a different taste to what I might prefer.

  18. You referred to him as a FF14 Content Creator buuuut does he really have Content?
He's a lore master with no insight into the lore.
The last few videos I watched of his were horribly edited, not interesting, not new or had a unique spin, and low effort all together.
Maybe the one to blame on lower viewership is himself first b4 the community. Both in attitude and quality of content.
I think alot of people left because he had all these notebooks of notes of the story and people were hanging on to see what he would do with it. He did nothing with it.

  19. Totally on point Brian the trolls are kind of a no lose position where if he gets irate they win and if he quits they win. Can't imagine having to put up with people being dicks to you constantly for a living. Suffering through their assery with a smile probably best way but doesn't sound easy, such is life.

  20. Yes be kind. Be empathetic. But I think there’s something to be said when someone is consistently being toxic or raging at people…and then raging because there were consequences to his actions, that we need to call a spade a spade.
Look at the streamer qualities on that website. Not a single positive quality was voted on. His second highest quality was literally “too toxic”
That’s not anyones fault but his own. He should learn from his mistakes and be a better person.
This isn’t cruelty; this is just facts. And I personally believe there comes a point when showing empathy to someone who acts likes this—over and over again—is a waste of time and energy. There are plenty of other talented creators to watch. You don’t get a pass on horrific behavior just because you’re a content creator.

  21. I lost all respect for pyro I won't give him another chance I did really enjoy watching him explore the game and fall in love with the world but I got really tired of him raging at chat. people need to understand it's not just the clipped parts of the stream he would mald it was a common occurrence.

  22. I kinda stopped watching everybody except for you, Zepla, and Quazii after Pyro's meltdown four months ago. I don't hate Pyro at all, he doesn't deserve to be canceled at all. And I think that the FFXIV defense force can kick rocks and leave everybody alone. But at the end of the day, streamers like Pyro and Xenosys tend to bring a kind of energy to their content that I just don't want in my life. I don't hate Xenosys either, and I think that he's extremely knowledgeable when it comes to high end raiding content. I deal with enough hostility and anxiety through my work; I want peace and tranquility when I clock out and come home.

I really despise the FFXIV defense force for ruining so many people's experiences. I resent them for trying to gatekeep something that they didn't even create. They're a bunch of cliquish pricks who need to let people live their lives and need to ask themselves why they're doing what they're doing. The FFXIV defense force is what's ruining the game. Not the WoW refugees. Not Pyromancer. Not Xenosys. Not Asmongold. I'm just sick of the drama that was borne out of a game that we all have a mutual love for.

  23. I just don't understand your standpoint.
There has been many videos now where comments have informed you about trolls (4chan, reddit and the like who jump on Bandwagons to humiliate streamers of all games) vs FFXIV Andys.
However, you continue to muddle between the two which doesn't make sense for someone who make "analysis" videos.
It is plain to see that you have decided to forgo this part of the argument for a hidden agenda.

As such, I would conclude that your arguments, despite their flaws, suffer from you name-calling and labelling others so that you can push forward your own narratives.

  24. I honestly gotta give you so much respect Brian and from this guy who I honestly do not know, you still speak good about him and I don't think blocking you was not a smart idea, from my perspective he seems not well like he has a problem. I can't hate anyone myself but hate his attitude or how he puts himself in a bad situation in watching this dude videos.

  25. I use to watch Pyromancer but I don't anymore because of the way he treats his chat. It's very off putting. Plus the PS4/5 rant was uncalled for. Acting like PC is superior and trashing anyone who plays on console and disagrees with him…it was a major turn off. He doesn't deserve the hate he gets, but also he kind of opens himself up to getting hated on for comments like that and for the way he treats his chat.

  26. Ffxiv has these psycho people for a few reasons.

    A. A lot of its playerbase is carried over from NON mmo players. The Mainline Final fantasy titles are entirely single player experiences and ffxiv is the first multiplayer experience alot of them ever have, and as a result, don’t know how to handle playing with other people who aren’t die hard ff fans.

    B. The games systems. The hand holding in dungeons, the sexy maid glamours, the cutesy crap, the stuff people do in Limsa. It’s as close to the capturing that “sword art online” feeling as any mmo has come in recent years, and people have lost themselves in it. Other games have come close, but those games suck and you can’t really justify defending them. FF Is a good game though, so Insult ff, you’ve insulted them. They’re not players, they are activists. Idc if it’s offensive, these people are literally delusional and are out of touch with reality.

  27. The fact that he seemed proud his rant video is the most viewed XIV video of all time is exactly the problem. XIV existed before him and the fact he’s not eclipsing the existing game coverage seems to really bother him deeply.
