  1. When I saw him, my heart raced. Then I thought, what happened to his body? The years must not have been kind! Had he deteriorated over time? Then i thought of Hydaelyn. What form would she have? It all made me more excited to find out what happens next! Like reading a great book you just can't put down!

  2. It was unexpected we would fight zodiark so early in the expansion, but seeing how it played it's role in the story, it was done in a way where I couldn't complain. If anything I was tired of zenos being constantly used so I'm really glad we are done with him.

  4. Both me and my friend were blown away by Zodiark trial. Not necessarily by the trial itself but that a fight like that came so early on. That was the point when we realized that the expansion was going to be incredible and something bigger than big.

  5. I was honestly surprised when it was the lvl 83 trial cause if we fought him there who do we fight later one. Like does he somehow come back or is he not the big bad we all though he was.

  6. I love their little footsies!!!!! Super cute interaction.(the “we have Zordiak at home” is so fun) Also, may be a lvl83 trial, but it's fun, I don't care about the level but the enjoyment.

  7. When I came upon the Zodiark trial being so early and being on the moon so early my entire perspective of the story's scope immediately changed. Still would have liked the 1 v1 one with the Viator on the moon though. >.>

  8. I'm currently going through Endwalker, and I knew there was going to be a Zodiark fight, but I did not expect it to be as soon as it was. Heck, I didn't expect to get to the moon as early as you do. It just made me wonder what crazy stuff was gonna be in the expansion if this was the early game.

As for the fight itself, it was really fun. It is my favorite fight in the game so far, and I hope the rest are just as good, if not better!

  9. Being a sub-boss was fine. At that point they'd well established that he was keeping us safe from a bigger-bad, so it was hardly a bait-and-switch.
I do wish/hope there'll be an unsundered version at some point. I suppose it would have to be an Ultimate? The barding especially would benefit from an unsundered version.

  10. I thought the build up towards the Zodiark fight was way cooler than the fight itself. Riding on our trusty dog around the moon and seeing al those Aether lines gathering in that gigantic crater was so cool and foreboding. The fight itself was rather underwhelming.
Personally I think the Hydalin fight was way cooler and so much more emotional and better presented.

  11. I think being sundered justifies a significant nerf, as well as it's 'heart' at the time not being an original ancient (or especially sane). Making more of the fight would have required more of a lead in, which was all already (time) budgeted out on some well paced, but very busy/full other plot. It seemed like tying up a loose end, but in context it was a loose end, there was other stuff going on.

  12. As I know a lot of people will agree on was the "what the fuck is going on, how can there be an even more evil villain!?" It was sooo good because we were right, until we had no idea of the aftermath. great stuff!

  13. I was very surprised the fight was so soon, tbh was expecting the expansion to end with his resurrection and than a big fight with Hydaelyn on our side and him and some Ascians (if there were any left) on the other.
So at 83 i was going holy shit how does the story will go from now on 🤔

  14. I didn’t like zodiark.. because I play dragoon and the bind mechanics made the job feel bad. Loved the arena twisting though! Always love being the danger dorito when I queue for it. Makes me feel smart. lol

  15. Honestly, it just went by so fast I didn't process that we were killing Zodiark. No epic feelings at all. He was dead in seconds 💀 I thought we were going to spend a lot of time on the moon trying to fix something. But we hit the high REALLY fast. It was a good jumpscare so I'm not complaining :D. I kinda liked the rushed pace

It was probably a good decision for Zodiac to be first, cause we wouldn't have a nice bird fight after >:D. The weapons look nice there :L

  16. I couldn’t believe we would fight him soo early on. If he wasn’t the final boss then how bad is the last boss? I wasn’t prepared for how it turned out at all. Amazing writing skills by the devs.

  17. I was in shock, when zodiark was the first trial of the expansion. I honestly was on the floor. The first was kinda perfect. it was hard at min ilevel and had such fun mechs! i loved it. i never would have said he was 83 if you asked me before expansion.

  18. I expected Zordiark not to be the final boss because we knew from Shadowbringers that it was made to keep something else at bay. But that did seem very early. Quite frankly, I expected Hydaelyn to bite the dust first. Not necessarily that we would fight her, but if she disappeared before Zordiark and that we had to fight it alone, it would have made the situation more desperate.
I don't think what they went for is bad though. People should also keep in mind that we did not truly fight Zordiark. Elidibus was supposedly its heart. The version we fought was controlled by Fandaniel. I would not be surprised if we ended up getting an utlimate version later with Elidibus somehow escaping the crystal tower.

  19. I was taken entirely by surprise. We hit the moon so soon! Every step I kept questioning myself, like, "Are we really doing this now? Is it gonna be fake out? Do we kinda sorta beat him now, but he's not really REALLY beat and we have to do it again later? Does some other thing intervene or stop us from crushing him?" and then, no. We kick his ass. And track we did it to was a bop.

  20. I think the Zodiark trial was pretty fun as a level 83 instance. I liked the rotating platform mechanics, and it was even better him being possessed by another Ascian. The music was great, too.

  21. Zodiark: this looming entity throughout so much of the story. Tales of it awesome might echo in the annals of history. Having enough aetheric power to drive back the flood of dynamis. An entity looked upon more as a diety than a primal…. but sure, throw him in a level 83 trial or whatever.

  22. I think Zodiark being a level 83 trial was a good idea actually. We already beaten The Ascians, the heart of Zodiark was dead, and it was to show the players that "The Ascians are no more, you surpassed them, now solve what even they could not, The Final Days."

  23. Think like most, I was rather surprised when the trial came along. Played the game long enough to know that it was not me skipping some content by mistake, but it still crossed my mind for a moment there. Made for a very nice double-take though.

  24. Are these permanently unavailable?

What I thought about Zodiark being a level 83 trial is I didn't know, I had only completed Shadowbringers… I was expecting him to be the final boss. 😅

  25. At first I was really confused about Zodiark being the first trial. He was the biggest of the bads and we fought him in a weakened state, and after defeating his heart. It makes more sense in hindsight though. With Elidibus gone and Fandaniel at the helm, Zodiark didn't have much of a chance.

It was a really cool fight though, Zodiark has an awesome design.

  26. I think Zodiark being a level 83 trial is a fantastic subversion. We expected him to be at the end when he was essentially at the beginning. Plus, the mechanics are pretty cool.

  27. Cute mi ion but I have a handicap with my shoulders now that prevents me from doing all those trials and a lot of dungeons, it's called, old age arthritis hehe. Keep up the good info here. It helps.
