  1. Incredible. Two elitists mocking someone who posted a valid rant for "casual elitism". Do you two have goatees so you can tickle your boyfriends?

  2. I think everyone agrees with these points. I always try to discern how new players are to a roulette because I've been the new tank/healer/dps and didn't know squat about mechanics or rotations. Hell I'm still not the best but I know to ask questions if I'm not getting something.

If you're not going to participate or cooperate, I will kick you. I don't like my time wasted. Especially when I'm trying to be understanding and you're acting like everyone else is the problem when it's really you.

  3. As a casual player who appreciates the acceptance of incompetent players, even if it is at the cost of fear of being banned, I don't feel like I'm nearly as incompetent as the players described in that Reddit post. Kick them, I say. That doesn't sound like incompetence, that sounds like willful incompetence.

  4. My biggest issue to deal with is people clearly not knowing the mechanics and if you so much as inform them how it works, they just get so damn pissed. No matter how nice you are about it.

  5. Yup for me im a newer player. I actually want to learn mechanics. But a lot of the time and I have no issue with, folks are quick running dungeons which I get. I always state im.new and sometimes apologies if I do something that I know was stupid.
Mostly I avoid aoe and survive pretty good whilst never stopping damage as a blm. Even been last one standing a lot of times from mana shielding, force of habit in other games I suppose. I would really love to learn the mechanics though in some parts mostly so I dont feel so stupid next time. I have had some real toxic experiences as a new player where a healer won't rez because I died first time as a new player to a mechanic i didn't know, or when people get pissed if a group wipes with multiple new players even though those players stated they were new, or people annoyed for not knowing mechanics. I do watch guides etc but I cannot physically remember every mechanic unless I die to it tbh, make mistakes and learn from them. Sadly my negative experiences have been from mentors, and its no shade to mentors as a whole as I am working and hoping to be a trade mentor. But yeah I dunno why that is tbh.

  6. Oooo a big one is this. I recently got told off by a mentor for using a macro that says, hey I'm new please let me know mechs etc if needed. I typed it out. I use it at the start of new duties to save time but also because om a disabled a player and typing that on ps4 controls hurts. The mentor proceeds to tell me that they don't care about my disabilities, not typing messages at the start of every duty is not authentic, using a macro is not authentic and bad. I tried to explain that utilising systems to make gaming easier for me and my disabilities does not make me less authentic when I would type out the same message in chat anyway. It was a bizarre exchange and a one o was genuinely upset by, as it felt somewhat mocking me or throwing shade because im not authentic enough for using tools due to disability. He didn't understand when i explained that its literally ablesit behaviour. He tells me that he has disabled friends and they don't need extra help….. yup that happened

  7. i just wish i could join a static for older people im almost 47 but i want to do raids so bad but kids today are total assholes and toxic as hell theses days i beat eden 4sav but everything so dead now it sucks

  8. As someone who returns to the game, even if I have a new or returning player mark I oftem have to worry about getting randomly kicked for having lackluster dps or getting hit while learning new content or relearning patched rotations. Its a big offput to have some asshole kick you right before the boss to "remove lazy dps" and jerk himself off.

  9. Bad PUGs are just Challenge Mode.
For almost any kind of bad player – up to and including the healer to decided to challenge "herself" (but mostly the rest of us) by running Darkhold in the nude – a good team can absorb the loss of value that player would have provided. And if you treat them as a challenge, most bad players are fun to play with.
If someone's AFK? Sure. Kick 'em. They just plain aren't playing. If you're pretty sure someone's actively trolling you? Sure.
But if you think someone might be trying, AT ALL, you do your best to get them through it. Either you're elite and you're up to the task of taking on that challenge, or you aren't elite and you don't get to kick people for failing to meet your standards. Take your pick. You don't get to claim you're the best AND that this means you can play the same way all the time while everyone around you has to adapt.

  10. Sometimes if it gets too much there is tedency of being toxic espically if playing the game for a long, its hard to understand it from a newbie sight.

But i dont kick them ,i explain only if they refuse after 3 times.

  11. I had a dungeon where the Healer and Tank got into an argument and the healer tried to kick the tank, but me and the other DPS didn't agree so when the vote timer ran out and Tank wasn't kicked, Healer exited the dungeon.

  12. I wanted to kick someone out of MSQ since after the first boss they just left the KB didnt say a word then we at the final boss and I suggested kicking them and the person, no explanation: "I'm here! WOW JEEEZ maybe take that attitude back to WoW" and honestly I just didn't wanna have to carry someone. You want to do the thing that we all have to do well do it and I dont think I was out of line in the slightest.

  13. I’ve gotten bad takes and healers but try to adjust for them. My only incident is one run of Gulg that we were speeding through and the healer vote kicked the red mage after they didn’t use the limit break near the end even though we had chewed through them without an issue. Some ppl deserve the vote kick (useless healers grabbing loot but not doing anything) but it’s been rare for me.

  14. Imagine being so petty as to be enraged by "he didn't push the sprint button". I'm going to be so petty that I'm going to call you toxic trash if you're trying to mouth-macro anyone's hotbar. Nobody's here to speed run at your leisure. Rather than be a toxic dipshit, communicate things like "We're good, pull harder" or "Don't stand so far back, keep up with the tank." This is better than having a tantrum and /votekicking.

  15. Im a new player still and just getting in to lvl 70 content i warn the party and ask to tell me when im not cutting it and i will leave. I rather be told that i need better gear then to find out the kicked without warning

  16. Dang, if this was world of darkness alliance this was literally something i went through. I think mine was a bot tho because they only moved to fights via teleport, they only attacked if something came in range because they never moved from the gate, they didn't roll on loot, and after the raid they stood there for 20 minutes (i waited)

  17. After healing 25 Delubrum runs and a lot of them solo healer for my party… If I have to pick you up like 2 or 3 times I'm gonna be rescuing you out of stuff for the rest of run. My swiftcast needs to be avail for people who aren't dying repeatedly

  18. WHM/DRG duo pocket healing their SO instead of the tank who had to pop everything on a 50% pull to stay afloat til the mobs hit 60% hp. 6 wipes later:
    NIN: "Are you guys trolling?"
DRK: "Can you please stop pocketting your duo so we can just get out of this dungeon"
WHM: "you can go be right somewhere else" starts vote to kick DRK
We did clear the dungeon but my god i was salty

  19. From my personal experience I do forget older content and have yet to unlock everything so I get those noob moments😂 but I adjust pretty quickly👍

  20. i agree with most of it except the part about kicking the healer when the tank is always out of range. It isn't some pre-determined rule that tanks do max pulls. The tank make sure the healer is always close enough to give heals and if not they should slow down. The healer isn't some dog chained by a leash to the tank, its a team effort.

  21. It depends on the context for me. If the person is new and they don't know what their doing they should be told or explained what the boss does and that they should do X or at lest try to thats fine. People should at the very least should carry their weight and do the mechanics & I understand that if your pet gets into something or there's knock on the door you should at very least say something in party/Alliance to inform them the worst that can happen is that they kick you. But if you are constantly afking, not doing the mechanics and doing nothing then yes you don't deserve to be there and your wasting people's time.

  22. I've been vote kicked once. It was a four man dungeon run. I was the tank. We didn't even pull once.

One guy said his friend just logged on and wanted to vote kick me so his friend can join them.

The three were apparently from the same server. However, one guy told them not to because I was better geared.

I ended up being voted out.

Damn right I reported them! GM was cool. He told me they're going to get a suspension for that behaviour. And he actually took the time to check up on me and make sure this didn't affect me emotionally.

I recall another run where one guy was toxic! I initiated a vote kick but everyone refused. So, I told them I wasn't going to carry this toxic guy. Since I was the tank I said I would be happy to take the time penalty for abandoning the instance, meanwhile they were going to have to wait for a long time for a new tank.
