  1. The only thing I get irritated is is with PVP with pugs is that when I say to fall back and regroup everybody's one by one throwing themselves at the enemy to be mowed down and it makes the game frustrating when nobody's willing to work together to actually get the win

  2. I will say I'm a little disappointed that they didn't at least mention the cheating that's been going on. I mean, it is a little outside of the exact scope of this specific point but it definitely does fall under the umbrella of bad behaviour in PvP. Even just to say that they're aware of it and are looking into it. I really hope it doesn't get swept under the rug like it does in the other PvP modes.

  3. The ONLY thing I agree with here are the punishments for people stalking and such outside of the game. As for everything else, I think the issue is more so that a large portion of the FFXIV community are just pansies. Even in the video here, Meoni is giggling at some of the stuff in regards to showboating behaviors he's reading. You know why, because that shit's funny lol!
While the humor of it all is subjective, what is OBJECTIVE is that most people aren't intending to "harm" those they are competing against. The most such behavior is meant to do, is to get in their opponent's head as it were. To be more specific, the people emoting and such after kill aren't trying to necessarily "offend" and leave it at that. What they want is for you to "clap back" as the cool kids say. As it stands, the people getting upset and reporting the showboating come across as a bunch of baby's running up to Yoshi-P like, "Mr.Yoshi-P. The mean man over there made me feel bad." Simply put, it's just pathetic. Just nut up and kill them back. If you want to add insult to injury, do their own emotes and such back at them when you come out on top.
Having said all that, I want to reiterate and clarify some things. Punishing the objective spam is fine. Punishing stalking behaviors is fine. Punishing the showboating, however, IS NOT fine; It is coddling. PvP, much like savage/ultimate raids and such, will always highlight an undeniable fact – not everything needs to be for everyone nor will it ever be such. Lastly, me and everyone else that likes PvP (specifically now), don't want you to quit or feel defeated. On the contrary, we want you to "git gud" as they say. Moreover, we want you to NOT be a little bitch about getting destroyed and/or "disrespected" via emotes, and actually fire back with ALL the heat. It's a competition. We're here to fight; not complement each other. DURING the fight, I intend on making you my bitch. What's important to keep in mind here, is that the respectful handshakes on whatnot come AFTER the battle. Have fun people.

TL; DR = This is doing too much in some regards. Yoshi is babying (certain) players. Not everything is a "personal attack". Not everything is "toxic". These are just buzzwords commonly used in place for things they don't like vs. things that are actually objectively bad.

  4. I actually submitted reports about the spamming and a GM contacted me via Tell to ask me about it. So I’m glad they’re listening and doing something about it. It’s super irritating especially in Ranked matches. It can kill morale or be super distracting.

  5. "Using fireworks on top of a player" when I did the PvP with the big group I chased someone down who was alone, I'm very new and just thought I could kill them, and someone else came along and killed me then threw paint on me. So yeah it's a thing.

  6. I haven't played Crystalline Conflict yet, I wanted to level all my jobs to 30 so I can work on all of them, now I'm not sure it's a good idea just because I don't want to be reported for being bad or deal with people being mad at me for it. Probably will anyway. Maybe my data center isn't as bad as others.

  7. There must be something wrong with me that I don’t get angry at my team for dying. I been wanting to playing more pvp for a while and it took forever to find people to play with. Now everyone is playing. I’m happy I finally can play pvp more.

  8. Unrelated to PVP, but I remember tanking the Lost City of Ampador for the first time and learned the mechanics decently, held aggro, stayed alive and caused no wipes.

Unfortunately for me, the Crafting-Mentor Scholar in the group asked me if I EVER mitigated damage (Dark Knight here, so I have a select few to choose from and I know better than to pop all of them at once). I said as much, and he just told me to 'try harder now get moving'. Claimed he was hungry and I was taking too long, et cetera. Essentially just a show of toxic bravado in front of his Sprout buddy, but I remember feeling rather paranoid about my performance after that.

Turns out I was doing just fine and nobody else had an issue with the rotation. So I'm still doing what I'm doing!

  9. “repeatedly using an emote on top of downed opponents”…
Are people using the “squats” emote to t-bag their opponents?
If so, this is the first time I’ve seen anyone getting called out for this kind of behavior, considering how much of an immature norm it’s become in FPS games.

  10. Honestly, this is tragic. Imagine being so fragile that, during PVP, you are lastingly upset by someone sweeping, or using a firework.

This is never ok, and it's just setting an awful precedent. If it continues like this, teaching sprouts will be considered 'abusive' or 'toxic'.

  11. I'm a little worried about it, but I normally say "Good Match!" Right as the match starts as a "Good luck. Have fun." I'm not worried enough to stop because I'm sure a GM with half a brain would see that it isn't "haunting." Would be nice to have something like that though.

  12. In the new alliance raid the other day, we were at the last boss, balancing the weight for that mechanic, when in the last second one player jumped over to the other side. We wiped. He clearly didn’t know what he was doing. Lots of people got angry, but what annoyed me was that someone placed a negative marker on that players head.

  13. Well, that would explain why sometimes a white make player would stick my little plus marker back on me. It was just a habit I got into since it makes keeping an eye on and defending healers. I think I got a negative marker once or twice-it didn’t occur to me that it was a proverbial “screw you”. I never saw anyone use an emote over a dead body, but there was one player shit talking two or three players via shout on wolfs pier.

  14. It's actually pathetic how thinned skinned people are, deeply disappointed that even in a PvP mode that doesn't have chatting…people still get their feefee's hurt.

Actually pathetic, it's like the community wants to foster a reputation of being filled with snowflakes.

If emotes over a KO'd person are reportable, then I'm sorry…this game doesn't deserve to have a functioning PvP mode.
