Welcome to FFXIV. Just continue what you’re doing. Goingvthru the MSQ. Remember to keep up with your job quests.
Just remember, Dragoon will be sharing gear with the new Reaper DPS job for Endwalker. Like big swords?! How about big scythes?! The main thing about FFXIV… just have fun. Don’t feel like you need to catch up fast to everyone else.

Welcome to FFXIV! Glad you are enjoying it so far. I’m a huge fan of dancer’s playstyle, but I definitely agree that dark knight has an awesome aesthetic with that giant sword and Im all for encouraging more tanks as Endwalker hits and everyone wants to play Sage and Reaper.
Looking forward to your FFXIV videos in the future.
Sarap yan! I dont play this game but the graphics looks cool. Last pc game that I played was DIABLO so sobrang tagal na. Ngayon puro MLBB na lang. 😁
If you like very active DPS playstyles, try Ninja or Monk. Both jobs hit buttons for days and have abilities or passives that speed up the GCD.
welcome to ffxiv! never be afraid to ask for help/advice/direction if you need it. this community has its problems, every community does, but if there's one great thing about ffxiv fans, it's that we'll bend over backwards to try and make the new player experience smooth in a way the game itself often doesn't
Sounds like you got very good advice and listened to it — focus on MSQ, make sure to do the job quest at level 30 (a lot of people miss this and then enter higher level content without hald their rotation), and read the text.
Another person to welcome to our world, lovely! I'm glad you are enjoying your time so far, my main tip is to remember that the community here is good. We'll help. We'll answer questions and guide you if you need it. Don't hesitate to ask if you need help. Take your time, enjoy it.. and remember to look up at the sky sometimes, the sky is always beautiful here, you can actually see the astrologian star signs if you look for them.
Welcome to ffxiv! The best tip I could give is to ask the heal if they can handle big pull if you’re the tank
Definitely take your time on this, especially since Endwalker won't go away after its launch.
You Jumped in as a Lancer…. That makes me laugh and I don't think it should
If you want to try the jobs with the biggest damage numbers, Go Samurai for Physical DPS and Black Mage for Magical DPS though the trade of is they lack part utility skills. Also if you decide to try Healer remember that Healers need to do damage as well. Always remember the term ABC: Always Be Casting
You dont need any advice: you're doing perfectly fine already 🙂 Unlike WoW where pre-events and things like that only happen once in a lifetime (I still get mopey that I missed those weeks where we "lost" the Artifact weapons from Legion…), FF14 doesnt work that way: it doesnt go anywhere so you do you 🙂
Unfortunately Lancer is one of the few jobs that really takes a lot of time to acquire a satisfying number of skills. But the later levels of Dragoon feel very smooth and mobile in combat.
Welcome. The recommendation for Job you requested is simple. FFXIV is very different from other MMORPGs. The game is designed so well that you can catch up with EXP and gears rather easily. This opens up you to try other Jobs you normally wouldn't play. FFXIV is about going out of your element. Trying new things and breaking molds. As for me, I got everything to max level and my mood is dictates which job I choose.
Hehe, when you said “lancer” and “jumping” in the same sentence.
One thing I would suggest is if you ever need to level due to the MSQ, do not just go hunting random mobs, this is by far the worst way to get EXP, it's one thing I see a lot of people do if they came to FFXIV from another MMO. You have things like the Hunting Log, Leveling Roulette and FATEs that offer far more.
Is there really a money train in this?
Dragoon's rotation is kinda unfortunate in that it doesn't truly start to feel complete until 60, and even then you'll still be missing a few things that really round out the full kit. That said, Heavensward's story features Dragoons really prominently so I think you'll enjoy having one at the right level to do those quests if you don't feel like catching up your Dark Knight.
If you want to try out classes, I suggest unlocking Deep Dungeon: Palace of the Dead. Once unlocked, you can enter with any class at any level. So you can take a lvl 1 Thaumaturge in there. Inside POTD you get synced to level 60, so you can get an idea of what each class is like at that level. I don't remember if you unlock Job abilities as well, so you might still need to unlock the jobs at lvl 30 to see the full spell/ability set. However, you'll get enough XP doing POTD that hitting level 30 will take next to no time at all.
I recommend checking out guides for that place as well, so you know the most efficient way to do things.
