FFXIV Maps Reaction
First time ever getting into a maps dungeon, wanted to share my reaction. I definitely wasn’t expecting it to be this fun. Really enjoying the risk and reward of these FFXIV maps and the map dungeons.
This was recorded live on Twitch, would love if you want to come join us over there, drop a follow on twitch to be notified when I go live:

If you want to see more of these smaller reactions or small live gameplay moments, let me know as I’d love to share more in this format. They’re not highly edited, just shorter twitch clips like this ffxiv treasure maps one.
If you know anything about these map portal dungeons or anything about ff14 treasure maps please let me know, I’ve no idea what loot you get from here or how far you can get into these dungeons as I’m completely new to them. This stream was my first time even trying ffxiv treasure hunting and didn’t even know these treasure maps existed until now.

Treasure Hunting is fun. Glad you like the game Marty.
I still haven't done any maps because I always sell them. I really should. It looks fun.
I'll never forget my first time.
I got a map, asked a friend to help, we went in as healer and tank, and my first ever dungeon, I got all the way to the end. I literally thought it was "Choose a door and face what's behind it" like an alternate paths kind of thing.
Treasure hunting is a great way to get Gil and crafting mats.
I need a group for treasure hunt urgent, it sounds fun!!!
I remember one of our most insane treasure map. We were playing as friends, and at one point we came across a random lalafell. So we all decided to pet her for good fortune and here was 7 tall people petting a lala.
As for the run ? This was the most insane run ever ! First roll, jackpot ! Every roll suceeded and we got to the final boss ! There was 6 chest all with calf leather in it ! This lala became a legend for us xD
Glad you had fun doing treasure maps.
They are great for Gil and mats and really fun when you do them with friends.
It is all rng based but best to get in a habit of checking all doors before you make a move after opening chest as if one lights up and has a rainbow path it means it is a free door it's a guaranteed next floor through that door.
There is also sometimes a rare gamble that can happen when you can bet high or low against some dice for a chance to double your loot.
70 and 80 (Gazelleskin and Zonureskin) party maps also have 2 types of portal dungeons. Doors like this one and also a spin to win, wheel of Fortune type one.
Gazelleskin Maps also can drop thief maps as loot which is a harder more profitable map that give even more Gil and rarer loot.
Where is the Lala?
Don't know if you were told or not, but if you manage to make it to the last floor 20 times you get the rarest title in the game!
Sometimes the floor glows to tell you which direction.
I did not know this.
I was already Interacting with the Left Door as friends in Voice Chat were yelling Right Door.
To which I thought they meant I was interacting with the "correct door"
I am not a smart Mi'qote.
I wonder how many people know it's tomestones and not tombstones.
People have done the research into how maps work, and apparently the level you're going to make it to/the rolls you make in maps are predetermined. It's all bells and whistles, whether you get to the next stage or not was determined the moment you set foot in the instance. The truth absolves you of guilt, but also detract some of the magic.
Popular seems to be "Your map, your drop". IMO … better off getting two friends to static treasure maps with, then evenly split all drops amongst the 3 no matter whos map. Everyone wins n gets rich together
