FFXIV TOP BLM POV – [Kindred] 1st Stream Team Clear

Log: https://www.fflogs.com/reports/L6qYp8g7tmrvZnDV

World 6th (according to FFLogs) and 1st stream team to clear.

What a fight to prog. From starting out on RDM, to changing to SMN for more damage, to finally settling on BLM for even more damage, I once again feel blessed to have the opportunity to whip out every caster job for a world race. Although my BLM was shaky for the first couple of hours of swapping to it, after getting comfortable on P1 Iโ€™d say that the swap was a good choice. The consistent damage profile of BLM allowed for more ease in some of the tougher DPS checks for 2 minute comps, namely in P4 which it will perform over other classes the most if your group decides to use 2 minute cooldowns at the end of P3.

This fight on BLM proved to me once again that proper planning of resources in and out of a pull can let a BLM flourish in any setting, even in a world prog setting. The combination of phases with longer periods of uptime (2-4 min) and phases with many segments of shorter uptime (30-60 sec) allowed for a nice variety of phase timings that made the fight interesting to plan out. Although my P6 was far from clean, Iโ€™d say that Iโ€™m overall fairly happy with my general performance rotation-wise.

Once again, although my rotation is far from optimal, I believe the majority of the decisions I make (especially in the longer uptime segments) are ideal with prog in mind and I try to emphasize staying flexible and versatile with my rotation choices when needed. I plan on doing a stream where I review my gameplay and talk through my rotation and thought process in more detail, and perhaps entertain more optimized options.

My only regret this pull is that I did not joelcast.
