So the very first green items you come across in the game is the Plundered sets, weird that this would be given to the whole category but none of the colors would be given the same thing.
Edit: Saw the pinned comment about Aethereal pink. So there are two.
I feel during the early game that's what these colors meant but over time have gotten slightly different names and meanings. such as purple apparently being exclusive to relic type weapons. In most games that color would mean it's more powerful then blues but that might not be entirely true in FFXIV. The same when it comes to some greens against some blues where blues seem to denote the gear is obtain through special means, normally tomes of some kind though not exclusively as you can obtain blues from alliance raids. Early game greens could be considered dungeon gear but also crafted gear as well at some point.
The only rarities that you can actually feasibly use at the end game are either blue or purple depending on what your gearing situation happens to be but that's for only people that care about that. Then again that's besides the point because this is not a gearing video. (7+ years experience btw)
Thanks for this, I missed the "right" names for the gear colors.
I'm not too sure this is true since searching it up gives you a whole new set of names for the colors:
White – Common
Pink – Aetherial
Green – Scarce
Blue – Rare
Purple – Relic
I think the names in the video are just what they called the item backgrounds for character portraits
Ok you caught me, I was using WoW terminology. I am ashamed.
Pink can also be called Aethereal, which it is also called on an official source.
