Just a minion as reward, is a bit odd.
Bit disappointing but maybe its more special than it seems. Emet Selch getting a minion though, is a nice touch.
Suppose if we get a minion version of all the ancients, we might actually have them all mingle together at the same spot, on our Islands.

Idk why ppl are excited about this. It's kinda sad.
Yoshi-P has said in an interview that they normally hold off on doing character Minions until their story arc is more less done. So if there isn't a minion of that character there's a chance there's still more of a part for them to play.
Clearly scions the exception but it's the general rule of thumb. This Could mean emet selch story is pretty much wrapped up.

Right. Usually the rewards for the Rising are secondary. It's the personalized message from YoshiP (and sometimes from other devs as well – like the 2019 Rising event) that's the real reward.
Next year should be hythlodaus so that way it can annoy emet lol ๐
