  1. one thing I wish they would implement. when you blacklist someone after unfriending them because of something that happened. I wish they would remove you from their friends list. as it is right now, you remain on their friends list until they themselves remove you. It allows for stalking and intentional following of a person despite being blacklisted.

  2. I don’t really mind the terms of service changes as long as SE is being reasonable and realistic about it. If I run into a tank in a DF dungeon and they will not tank even after I explain calmly and kindly what they need to be doing, and how. I will kick them for trolling and ruining the experience for everyone else.

SE can’t expect the other 3 people in those circumstances to leave a duty and take a penalty because someone else won’t properly do the most basics of the role they chose. Even with some patient help.

And before you say it. I have seen people like this. There are people out there who LIVE to annoy other people.

  3. I sorta feel its going to be harder now to be frank with people. Some people are sensitive to being straight up telling them what is the issue and prefer extremely wordy/flowerly statements prior to you getting to the point.

People have a hard time reading "tone" online.

  4. Misuse of Bugs: I did find a bug before that wasn’t really beneficial and while I did use it on a character, it actually disadvantaged myself (or whomever fell victim to it).

If there was some form of advantage to be gained, I wouldn’t have continued using it as I don’t want banned.

The bug in question was the Hunting Log Glitch in SB where if you played on a character with some hunting log progress then backed out and made a new character without quitting the game entirely, Hunting Log progress would be copied over to the new character.
    This meant that you:
Lost out on a chunk of XP (Before the ARR Revamp so XP wasn’t as plentiful unless you did roulettes all the time, etc)
Lost GC Seals as those logs counted

While you could gain access to the rings early for each job, you’d still need to be 50… By which point you’d have completed the log normally anyway due to how the story leads you to the locations with said enemies.
Note: I only experimented with the bug myself to gain as much knowledge about it to put in the report I sent to the team. After I did, Admins were resetting hunting logs of affected players until a hotfix came out not too long afterwords.

Since there was really no benefit to it, I don’t think it would fall under misuse… But if you do find a bug and there is immediate, logical benefits to it. My advice, stop using it right then and report with what you have.
Maybe make a video like I did and PRIVATE IT to link in the report to better show the team what happened.

  5. I think I have a video of me playing in a dungeon which I was streaming and two players started saying I was weird and started to use the slap emote through out the whole dungeon. I reported them. I should find the video and just post it. The end boss fight was awesome. 😈 I was the healer btw. 😅🤫🤐 The tank who was defending me was just an awesome person. ❤️ Will be forever thankful.

  6. all this leads to in the pug pve community is NOONE TALKING since any negative comment can be reported. Its actually so terrible that people will kick for the smallest issue without ever saying a word because its SAFER to just get someone else then it is to explain to the person how to improve. See the problem people??????

  7. I was in a raid instance for paradigm's breach and there was an entire 8 man party with no job stones on. And when we (as in the rest of the alliance) called them out on it they called us out for "harrasing" and that we were ruining their fun…. 😕

Like I understand you want to spice it up sometimes but yikes.

  8. It's pretty sad that people need to be explained in great details how to not be a shitty human being. What's even more sad is that FFXIV is amongst the cleanest and most positive MMO communitites out there. What does that say about MMO gamers in general?

  9. Players are going to be afraid to banter in public now. I expect a lot of people to get banned/reported especially those who hang around in Lower Limsa. Whew. Endwalker on launch day is going to be so much fun! 😅

  10. .. Sorry, this community really needs to grow a collective backbone. Really? Telling someone that they're doing something wrong is "prohibited"? How the hell are we supposed to teach people mechanics in whatever encounter now? Like your EX trials or Savage or whatever. When someone is very obviously NOT getting something, despite them SAYING that they do, what the hell are we supposed to do?

I personally would neither be willing nor prepared to simply sit and wait until they eventually get it, or at least not for too long anyway, I mean that could literally take upwards of an hour in some cases, or just simply never happen at all. So, does the party kick them? No because that would also be considered "toxic" wouldn't it? Okay so does the party just disband? Is that not also toxic? What of the 7 other players there who were all "getting it" and making progress and understanding? Pretty shit for them isn't it? Having to leave/quit/disband/find a new group all 'cause one guy's brain was as smooth as a newborn baby's arse.

I've grown more and more sick of the community over the past two years to the point now where the literal only thing keeping my sub running is not wanting my house to be demolished, and now it's only going to get worse isn't it? There are so, so many brand new oh-so fragile eggshells to tread on now, mustn't hurt someone's precious little feelings even if you're trying to genuinely help them and offer advice for the betterment of a group, including them, as a whole…

  12. I'm a little bit worried about the whole "Leaving when progress is not going well in a duty" because it's happened to me a bunch of times where I will join a [Loot][Duty Complete] party, with the intention of farming that fight for a mount or something, and several party members just do not know the fight at all. Is it wrong of me to just simply leave? If I clarify the reason I'm leaving with a comment, is that harassment? "Sorry, but this was advertised as a farm party, and we keep wiping so I'm going to leave."

It just seems a bit vague.

  13. The problem with all of this is that defining stuff like Harrasment, toxicity, Offensive can be anything. Most weak minded, mentally ill, spiteful people can and will abuse for whatever reason like having a discrepancy over literally anything. Then, who determines what is offensive and what’s not? The alleged victim of said offense. This over protective will not protect any victim of anything. Will create a milk toast, weak minded community where people cant express themselves out of fear of being banned for anything they say that can be perceived wrong. This is not specific enough to really filter what is specifically offensive. Its just milk toast situations that happen anyway. This is just not how humans work. Specially when you play with randoms. This is a bunch of very stupid normal situations that will happen anyway. I can assure you something, either nobody will talk, it will discourage party finder raids and knowing how passive aggressive and spiteful ive experienced people in FCs, dungeons, raids are, they are going to have a field day now playing victim to get people they dont like banned. Id rather people be who they are and blacklist assholes than acting like a fake person they are not. This is a bad move that cannot be enforced because again… That’s not how humans work.

  14. I honestly feel sorry for new players who get excited for playing their first final fantasy game, and they are with their friends and find a "funny" emote and starts spamming it to show their friends how derpy it is.

They get reported and legit suspended for spamming the chat log, because a few grumpy players report them WITHOUT whispering that new player about the "emote log" can be turned off in the menu to prevent spam

I have had 7 FC members get suspended because they didn't know u could turn off the emote log to prevent emote spamming the chat

SE needs to legit put a "cooldown" on emote spam so if u spam it 3x in succession it auto mutes your emotes in chat for 5mins or so

  15. It's kinda sad people will get yeeted for accidentally doing or saying something.
Tbh in most duty finders I just use simple words and be quiet, but it's gonna be sad not seeing the same level of banter.
Also grinding emotes? Like… squats???? Eastern strech???? Or what lol
Idunno man the so called great community is not standing on rules, you can go to Eureka and see the real shitshow and how the community really is lol
Personally the only one rule i fear is the emotes one xD I tend to emote way more than I talk

  16. I got Bardams Mettle as a tank in leveling. We had 2 new dps sprouts so the healer just said "yup not doing this shit" and left 😀 The other dps asked after watching the cutscene "where is the healer? :0" it was sad y'all

  17. A TOS should never rely on the offense taken by other people instead of intent because there will always be people out there who get offended by every little thing. I know this was in the tos before and just clarified, but honestly this makes me not want to talk in party chat at all.
Would I even be allowed to say "stack on marker X" without adding a please or what do you think about that?
Because I'm not changing my regular speech that's for sure. It's way too much work having to rephrase every little thing that I want to say purely because my culture and language just doesn't include stuff like this.
I play FF to chill and have fun. Not to have to talk more politely than I even do at work! That's insane.

The tos should include name calling, harassment, stalking, etc. Not those other things.
Also the whole thing with a person being able to report a whole FC even if 9/10 are ok with the language used is also insane to me.

People who say "it doesn't matter because it was always this way" are missing the point. The point is that with these precise examples published now people can abuse it so much more. And oh people will abuse it, just wait

  18. Is SE trying to be baby sitters? I feel like a lot of these rules are a little to specific and are going to result in a flood of arbitrary reports. They need to let people police themselves a little instead of trying to arbitrarily dictate every interaction we have.

  19. If people would leave there IRL views and beliefs in the real world and not bring it in game. We would not have a problem. We play games to get a break from the real world for a bit. I see guilds bring world issues into the game and it’s right in the guild info.

  20. Doesn’t matter to me anywAy, i’ve unsubbed so many times within this past year in a half….. my bf speaks too highly of this community like its the greatest thing. No measly hello* is going to save this game or the rude comments /emotes that I’ve encountered. I ’ve returned back to WoW. I got no complaints and can pvp without ppl just running away in fear,Good riddance. Also like minded ppl who enjoy pvp.

  21. Honestly, there have been a few instances where players have been total dicks for no reason to me (A player was overly aggressive towards me healing in a dungeon because I used Medica 2 over Medica, and Another, I got kicked from The keeper of the lake after the first boss because I was tanking it wrong apparently? 🤷🏾‍♂️) I’ve reported them and the GM would just tell me to blacklist them (of course, you can only blacklist a player outside of an instance rendering it a mostly pointless endeavour). I’m assuming they have to be repeated offenders before any actual actions or warnings are issued?

  22. nowhere near everything that technically falls under these rules will actually be enforced, they just need to have the rules be really broad because that closes a lot of loopholes. and any loopholes left open WILL be exploited – like how we're already seeing boosters just moving to the "other" tab in PF

  23. I have no idea why everyone is just skimming over the point with the 9/10 members rule at 5:00… This rule just made it possible for one person to completely fuck a FC over. Even if he initially was okay with bad behavior in the FC. That doesn't make any sense in my opinion… FC rules should be done by the Leaders and if not accepted, those people can leave.

  24. Me as a monk that one run of e1n I had in roulette where neither tank had their stance on: "I'm in danger" xD

Also regarding the restraining order: not every company will care to enforce them. I've seen friends told they should just go to the police/court about online stalking/harassment and the response from those institutions was that restraining orders are about "the real world" not the internet.
Glad squeenix is making it very explicit they enforce restraining orders.
