FFXIV RP | The Au Ra Roleplay Perspective

Today we’re going to be looking at the Au Ra playable race within FFXIV from a Roleplay perspective , we’ll be sharing fun details about the Au Ra for the purposes for creative writing and Rp stories within Eorzea and the FFXIV world!

This race has quite a history to it and they make for super fun characters to write and interact with! However, please note that these lore tidbits about the race are to be used moreso as a guideline as opposed to rules, I believe that Roleplay should be a place to express yourself freely (as long as you’re not hurting anyone) so please use this information as you see fit!

I’d like to thank the folks who suggested this series, we’ll be going over each of Final Fantasy XiV’s playable races in this light so you can see what may be in store if you want to pick one for RP!

  2. I will say however, as a RPer, the statement of not using a lore friendly name is valid 'but' I also want to say… picking your name is also important. If you're a Xaela with some edge-name like "ONYX SHADOWSCALE" then a lot of people will probably not take you seriously. It's Final Fantasy and imagination is important but try to stick to a name that'd still make sense and doesn't sound like you named yourself as a 12 year old. You can have a non-lore friendly name for your race, but it is wise to make one still sound… normal-ish?

    Xaela tribes are also vast, there's a lot of them, if you want to use a lore friendly name, do the research, talk to other Rpers!

    …And don't take my words as some weird twisted 'gate keeping', for the love of god, y'free to do whatever you want, this is just opinions and views of a jaded Lalafell Rper, that I have and you are free to ignore as you desire.

  3. Good all-around information. The only thing I'm unsure about is whether the dislike between Xaela and Raen is true. We only hear a story from the Oronir elder how the clans were at war, and then "learned to love one another" and that's why the Dawn Father and Dusk Mother were taught to love each other too (which can also just be a tribe-specific story that no one else believes.) Other than that we got no other information on Xaela or Raen actually hating each other as far as I'm aware.
