  1. One thing I see over and over again is that attempting to greed another team's big ice by moving in via the tunnels almost always results in being pushed out at best, or being pinched at worst.

Or, in other words, "I can't believe the death tunnel resulted in death!"

  2. Another great vid, thanks for this! Premades love Shatter! 😆What would you say is the best counter to drk divebombs on this map? In Onsal mid platform, I had great fun on my whm with my imp and LB combo, but have a harder time cc'ing them in Shatter b/c of the larger area and me needing to get very close while trying not to die. Perhaps a rpr or maybe even sam if I feel suicidal? 😅

  3. Battlehigh helps burn ice, but ice doesn't give battlehigh, so keep your priorities in order. That's the most important rule of shatter. Never pass up a good flanking opportunity. Once you're sitting on a nice level of battlehigh then you can play defense and focus ice more.

I find that you can get away with a lot of stuff as a ninja on shatter. I regularly lead kills as I pick off distracted ice lickers or boldy go for a 1 man pinch in the tunnels with the doton + goka for big damage, then teleport away to avoid the steamroll.

  4. The worst are the people spamming the wrong thing in chat, cause a lot of people who don’t know what they’re doing will just follow that. Far too many people are scared to play pvp in a pvp mode. Slowly but surely your videos will help educate the uniformed.

  5. Terrific guide as always. One thing I would add here is emphasizing the importance of the walls encircling the Central Ice node:

They mark the range at which most ranged abilities will be able to hit it. So, if you are able to hit the node with ranged abilities, you will almost certainly be able to reach enemies that surround it as well, with some adjustment. Combine this with the fact that from the outside of the circle, where you are freely able to see inward, you have a luxurious position to choose when to engage, as those in the circle have a harder time seeing out past the walls.

In short, the Central Ice node is where a large portion of your big plays may occur. It is much riskier to take the central ice unless you have a substantial power advantage. Sometimes it is better to simply leave the center node alone and use it as a bait to lure advantageous team fights.

  6. I think shatter is a map where strategy changes significantly depending on how aggressive/experienced your team and opponent is. I skipped some sections of the video but i am glad you didn't very much talk about "safe"/"unsafe" ice. Every ice is unsafe imo if your opponent is good.

  7. I actually silently gasped and hit my head with both hands at 1:42. I think I might binge your content because that early and there are already good points that I don't consider while already being an average/decent PAL PvP player.

Also, the UK "shatter" that ressembles "shaddap". Giggles
