  1. Ragnarok makes a lot of sense as a name! It literally means "fate of the gods" and isn't about the end of the world but the final battle of the old powers of all the realms before a time of rebirth when everything will be better than ever before.

  2. I think Anonymoose is wrong about the "little tug" bit. I think the implication is that Zodiark was the first primal created to temper on purpose, and they used that as a basis for the summoning rituals they passed on to people in later ages. It explains why the ancients were all so willing to feed themselves to him, and not just as a moral duty but with a religious fervor as we saw in the post Elpis cutscene. It explains why Venat had a handful of followers in her Hydaelyn plan, because only those she managed to use her warding spell on would be immune to the tempering, and of those she had to convince through her own words.

We should never take any ascian at their word about how much the ancients devotion to Zodiark came from free will. They are blatantly unreliable narrators about anything relating to Zodiark, even if freed from tempering because of their overwhelming pride and conviction needed to have summoned him in the first place.

  3. I thought the bird was the true form of Meteion, and the girl just a projection that is child-sized from the perspective of anyone they meet and that's why she's much smaller in Ultima Thule than Elpis, but then Yoshi-P had to go and say that's not why the size difference.
