  1. Maybe they did and it simply wasn't clear, but prior trailers had a good rhythm of switching locations with music. Having it seemingly all set in the same region, even though perhaps different parts of that region (in the swamp, the tower, and the city) make the whole thing seem very small the music disjointed in result.
Beyond that, it felt like the trailer was more about showing off the new jobs than almost anything – which gonna be honest, I don't care about new jobs.
It overall didn't do enough to actually set the stage on where we're going.
Or maybe the nation is actually just a swamp…

  2. 2:42:30 or so, Rook you mention nothing being a brand new style of content, and for the most part, i 100% agree.

However, 'lifestyle content' is an incredibly vague umbrella term, and Cosmic Exploration is most likely gonna be brand new. Even if they likened it to Island Sanctuary.

The one thing SE does well regarding the types of content for an MMO is trying new forms of content. From deepest dungeon, to Eureka, to Island Sanctuary, to Chocobo racing and the damn minion auto battler.

  3. 2:55:45 i agree entirely with Aldianaux. The game had its best class design, and was reasonably well balanced overall. Some roles were technically even more tightly balanced in EW, but fight design and 2m meta really hurt the community's impressions. Also a few classes were outliers relative to their role based peers, like MCH.

But, the msq story, both 4.0 and 4.x was among the worst in the games history.

  4. regarding why solution 9 was shown and not kept secret despite it being such an extreme reveal, it's because solution 9 is most likely the endgame hub town like eulmore or radz-at-han and that hub is always shown at fanfest.

historically the only 2 things that are never ever shown at fanfest are the 6th and final area which is always hidden, as well as the theme of the endgame trial series (warring triad, 4 lords, werlyt, etc)

  5. I agree with the general "unfocused" comment about the trailer. But a couple things did stand out to me as plot related.

    1) WoL is fighting a two-headed Mamool Ja in the New World. We know from Wanderers' Palace that two-headed Mamool Ja have leadership birthright. So my first question is "why are we fighting someone who might very well be the New World version of a king/emperor?"

    2) Y'shtola isn't just looking at a random wall. She's look at glyphs that resemble the Ronkan murals.

    3) The focus on the bridge and the cleave between the Northern and Southern halves of Tural. I suspect that our presence in the New World will result in either a reconciliation or destabilization of relations between the two continents depending on the status of their relationship at the start. Either way, I expect that bridge to be collateral. if not literally then at least symbolically.

But other than that, I agree that the focus of this trailer was less about selling a narrative idea than it was about selling an emotion/vibe. I don't necessarily consider that bad but it's definitely a different and somewhat risky approach. What with so many people having questions about the "hook" of this expansion.

  6. dawntrial is gonna have a dark dark dark storyline. it is a war between hyur and beast. the storyline will be base on Empire of Aht Urhgan. there could be a crossover with FF7 and FF8 remake series.
