  1. My theory about Voidsent names is they come from the summoners who made contracts with them, as all the Voidsent we have seen before had been those who had been summoned to the Source.
Of course this leaves the question of whether Golbez and the 4 archfiends had been summoned in the past

  2. I blatantly dusted off my scythe for this update and yes, there's at least one moment where she does mention your reaper status. When she asks you why should she help (after the final Scarmiglione fight) if you choose the "We're not Zenos, we won't force you" and you're a reaper, she actually mentions that you aren't forcing your avatar to serve against its will, and thus believes you. Asked a friend if it happened to them as a GNB and she said it didn't.

I didn't use it through the whole MSQ though, so probably missed other moments.

  3. I think when Golbez is talking about "the gate is opening" he is talking about a voidgate in Meracydia, and his Crusade is about invading the source. That's just how it sounded to me.

  4. Got a feeling that Golbez is going to be revealed as our reflection in the 13th. Think about it, Cecil and Golbez are brothers, and Cecil is a paladin. What class is the WoL in Endwalker again? Cecil and Golbez are sons of an ancient, and an Ancient, Azem, is our proverbial "father." 10/14 personal rejoining incoming? Heck, maybe we'll accidentally trigger a rejoining of the 13th into the Source, with that (and the resulting calamity) being the "big event" going into 7.0.

  5. Couldn't you technically gather a lot of light, like in shadowbringers and release it in the 13th in order to balance out the flood of darkness? That was something i thought of back when we were a lightbomb

  6. I kinda wonder if the hooded Ancient we saw Golbez eating might have been one of the Ancients inside Zodiark, and maybe what we were really seeing was him absorbing Zodiark's shard on the moon

  7. I'm guessing that Golbez might want to take over another shard, either to prey upon people with good aether or to actually have a good place to live. Either way, bad for the original inhabitants.

  8. I think golbez is azems shard from the 13th. Our character ends up being the one to go to the moon as was golbez, our character is a shard of a convocation member and as you said golbez was the son of an ancient. Why not make him be a literal remnant of an ancient this time around.

  9. So me personally I do not think that the Reaper's voidsent is our reflection, I believe that most likely Zero will be our reflection on the Thirteenth, and most likely something will happen to Zero and we will be persuaded to absorb Zero's aether giving us the ability to change Voidsent into crystals.

  10. Probably a far out there theory… but I think it would make for a more interesting story if Golbez is our reflection on the 13th, and would echo in a way the story of four if you put the Warrior of Light in the role of Cecil and find out the man you're fighting against has a deeper connection to you than you knew to start with. There's not really anything to say that our reflections have to be honorable people.

Additionally I think what we saw while traveling in the void is a teaser. My guess right now is that Golbez wants to conquer the Source, but for what purpose? I don't know. Though I do remember Yoshida stating at one point that the moon on every reflection is important in some way. So your theory of some Zeromus type of being existing on the 13th's moon tracks, even if it's not Zodiark.

Lastly, since it sounds like you didn't get the extra dialogue, Zero tells you she wasn't a willing partner to Zenos, but that instead she was forced to cooperate with him against her will, and comments that she can tell that unlike the two of them, you share a more equitable and fair relationship with your own reaper voidsent. And as someone who never liked Zenos and was sick to death of seeing him, I'm glad they gave me the chance, several times in fact, to remind her that I was not his friend.

  11. I know it’s not super likely but I’m going to say that I still hope Zero somehow ends up being our shard on the 13th. The biggest reasoning I can think of is just how convenient her survival through all of the events on the 13th was. She was born with a higher level of astral aether and just happened to be shunted into the rift between shards when the 13th actually fell, thus preserving her human half. It’s just very reminiscent of how Ardbert was kept alive in the 1st so that he could reunite with us. Maybe if she does become Zeromus we purify her core self after defeating her and are able to rejoin with it, or maybe we end up needing to use her power to defeat Golbez or something. Like I said, I honestly don’t have too high of hopes for this theory, and even if she is our shard in the 13th that doesn’t mean we’ll end up absorbing her, but that’s just my two cents worth.

  12. I'm very excited to see Rubicante in FF14. Because, in FF4, among the 4 archfiends, he was by far the one with most character. You could say he was the only actual character among them, because the others are little more than more powerful thugs. If Rubicante gets the same level of improvement as Scarmiglione or Barbariccia, he could be an amazing character in FF14.

  13. About Rubicante's plan… He requests the help of Cagnazzo. While it's true that the writers aren't just retelling FF4, there's one thing that Cagnazzo does in FF4 that could be used for huge dramatic effect in FF14. I wonder which FF14 character the writers would choose as a target…

  14. I really love your theory about Xande!
It would make a lot of sense reintroducing him in the main plot, especially considering how fond of him Amon was, and how he kept talking about him in 6.0.

Another thing of note from the MSQ in my opinion, and that's my tinfoil hat theory, is that Y'Shtola assumes that Fandaniel could have deliberately chosen Zero as Zenos' voidsent. So there must be a reason for it.
From there, I couldn't help but associate "buried memory" with Kairos. When Amon died, I think he made it clear that after each death, Fandaniel's soul remembered more and more about the Kairos situation, unlike Emet-Selch who of course never died before…So I wouldn't put it beyond him to have re-created/re-used Kairos for some reasons.
And even though the connection with Ivalice's scions of light is never really used in XIV yet, I also wonder if there could be a connection between Zeromus and Pashtarot.
Pashtarot was also mentioned by Emet-Selch in Elpis, when he learned about the existence of Kairos. He said something like "Pashtarot would never approve of such a thing".
So, my theory/wish is that we will have to deal with Pashtarot and Kairos in the future somehow.
Maybe I am overthinking it, but since 6.0 I have been thinking that Kairos would probably be re-used later on, which is probably why I see connections…I am obviously biased. And Pashtarot is really just OCD as he is one of the few remaining.

  15. Zero gives me HEAVY vampire Hunter D vibes. Half breed who is incredibly powerful and seems to possess ancient powers that assist them in their work. All dark clothes, emotionally distant, is ALL about the deal and morals, yet willing to bend the interpretation of those morals and deals to benefit others so long as they still get what they want, and other worldly beautiful. If you haven’t looked at the art for D, you should…they look VERY similar to eachother, including the hat lol

  16. I was thinking that Zero could be our Azem shard on the 13th. The Crystal of Light reacts to her and restores her form, but that line about Fandaniel helping Zenos to control her stuck with me. If Fandaniel somehow knew that Zero was the Azem of the 13th, having them bound to Zenos to be used against us is exactly the kind of thing he’d do.

  17. Both Zero and Zeromus have their true forms revealed by the hero using a crystal's power on them.
    It's a pretty obvious reference.
I don't think Zero is gonna be the evil mastermind behind everything like Zeromus, FF14 is too in love with it's villains not being evil and instead being depressed sad babies, but I do think she'll be an enemy at some point and most likely the last thing we fight to close this arc.

  18. I wondered about the names too. When they named Zero I actually had goosebumps. I also hope it doesn't turn out she's the bad guy.
About the watchers… I did wonder who the giant figures in the castle were. Clearly they used to be alive and got turned to stone. Was that Golbez's doing?

  19. Golbez domain location is unknown, maybe it is on the moon, & when he reaches up he is reaching towards the world. Also if he killed an Ancient, Golbez will have all of the Ancient's knowledge making him very damagers.

  20. If Golbez killed & absorbed an Ancient, & the moon bunnies, could he then have creation magic? Could he be a corrupted Ancient? Or 20 corrupted moon bunnies stuffing in that suit of armor??

  21. I have a question, the Shards of the Source, are they all in other separate dimensions? Did the blue-bird girl(s) that was going to kill the Source, did she know of Shards? Was she also attacking them too? Of if the Source was destroyed, so would the Shards?

  22. This is FUN, everyone going off on the lore wondering what is going to happen next, & how past lore is involved. This NEVER happened in WoW anywhere near to this extent.

  23. The quest we get after we finish the MSQ where we need to gather up the Hechites(sp?) to make it a whole voidsent again, maybe this is how we separate all of its people that ate each other, when we save the 13th.

  24. People talking about how they're expecting Zero being corrupted & turned in to the villain from FF4, maybe Zero should be given one of the wardings the Great Works & Cid's Iron Works created… would Zero be able to touch & carry a warding?

  25. Okay I am going to stop now, 6 posts guessing what is going to happen next, where Golbez's domain is located (it is on the moon) and etc …. See everyone in 6.3 … how long until 6.3? UGH

  26. tbh the thing I want them to do with the story of this is something they just cannot do because of how side story stuff is handled. but I'd love if we went back to the first, where, if you did the void quests after all hte role quests, you've got those 2 kids working to fix the 13th from the first. so it'd be cool if we could use their work, and our actual access to the void, to rip a hole in the barrier between these two shards and join them to cleanse both of their excess aether.

  27. Dunno if it was mentioned but last trial can be either Golbez or all fiends combined into one being if u remember there was optional superboss in 4 tht was comprised of all four of them called Geryon.
