  1. Anyone else really dislike abilities like new goring blade? Hitting it once every minute just because it deals lots of damage is sorta uninteresting imo. It'd be a lot cooler if something could reset its cooldown. Say any of your magic spells has a 30% chance to reset goring blade's cooldown or something like that. Same goes for sonic break on GNB. Idk, abilities like those just feel like button bloat to me.

  2. I am really really liking new PLD so far, my sole gripe is how empty it's gonna feel at lower levels, like a lot of jobs do and will, admittedly
Since divine might isn't a thing until holy spirit at 64, and holy circle isn't until 72, I guess you're forced to HS during aoe through all of SB until then?
And with goring once a minute you'll just be 123-ing until 64, and then until 76 with atonement which is a glorified 123 still

  3. The priority rotation definitely seems like the best and intended one.
Theres a very big difference between "optimal dummy rotation" vs your rotation in a fight, where uptime and consistency is most important.
You cant try to have every 1min window use 2 buffed HS, if a mechanic requires you to set away for 1 GCD, ect

This way theres still some thought you need to make in terms of being away of which buttons you have available, but it doesnt feel messy or easy to screw up this way, and you get a ton more leg room to naturally adjust to the fight.

  4. I definitely feel like this is the best PLD has been, which for me is important, since PLD is essential "My main Job i never want to play", since late 2014.
I started on GLD, ive done every expansion story on PLD first, but every expansion there felt like there were issue.
In ARR it was jank and bad
    In HW it was bad
In SB it was pretty good, but tanks still had a lot of really inconsistent design choices
In ShB tanks got a big QoL overhaul, but PLD felt weak and had an annoying rotation
And in EW, it felt like it just carried over the issues from ShB..

So the Job has always been the one i WANT to play, that is essentially my rock and main, in the way many people feel about other Jobs, but it was always just not good, and its always affected my attachment to the game, and i get bored easily, or dont enjoy the other 2-3 tanks enough, or only like 1-2 DPS or Healers.

This is the first time where im like, "Ok, i have my character, finally", just because it all feels good.

  5. PLD mains in chat, tell me if this new update for PLD is absolutely dogshit or not. My friend who does play PLD says it’s the worst change ever and just became absolutely shit and I wanna prove him wrong 😂

  6. Personally i cant stand this new PLD and has killed the class for me. The rotation before was perfect smooth and simple, and now its complicated nerfed and useless. Paladin WAS the simplest of tanks before 6.3, now its on par with GNB. Not as bad as messy as DRK, but almost there. WAR is now by far still the simplest of tanks to play.

Long CD single hit attacks are boring. Remove goring blade.
Having 2 procs off the end of a chain is stupid, Remove atonement or holy spirit, or remove the holy spirit proc again. We already have a ranged attack that every other tank has…
Req combo is half as long now giving us less healing on pulls. Normally it would last an entire pull now it doesnt last half as long.
Req doesnt use holy circle which aoe's around the player. Now we need to use req on the blade chain which is an aoe around a target which is SIGNIFICANTLY WORSE. We are essentially a BLM, and BLM aoe targeting is TERRIBLE.

I'll take the midigation changes. Give me back the better dps rotation. This 2 minute meta sucks. Its not fun having to use my abilities watching out and catering around someone else's cooldowns.

  7. I had the other experience with PLD. I started off as it and then went to other tanks and was like "oh no, this is really nice" and didn't come back to it until now lmao

  8. Thank you for all these PLD vids Rin, it’s helping prepare me for when I jump back into the game.
I just wanted to say – the music is a little loud in this and I think drowns out what you’re saying at some parts. Other than that, thanks again!

  9. I’ve gotta say that I’m liking this rework for the most part. I played through a lot of Endwalker on my alt as a Paladin for that full protag feeling and while I liked how the job looked aesthetically it just felt kind of slow as compared to the other tanks. With these changes it feels like you can get in there quickly and do a lot of damage AND with improved defensive abilities. Like all things, I sure it can be tweaked to be even better but I feel like this is at least 2 steps in the right direction.

  10. I really enjoy the priority system stuff – no attonement drops, no hard cast holy spirit stuff – just natural rotation and just press your burst whenever it is up.
