  1. Maybe this is not the place to start a lore discussion about Nier and Drakengard, but I hope some enthusiasts who see this may give their thoughts – heavy Spoiler territory obviously:

So.. how do you think we arrived at this final boss? I want to ignore the topic of what exactly happened and how the 3 raids' setpieces came to be – more interested in the origins of the different forces at work here.

So we have our lovely N2, the "Red Girls". As far as I'm aware they were not magical/supernatural, right? The aliens that brought the machine lifeforms to earth were really just aliens, and any references to the Watcher-themed elements of Drakengard and Nier 1 snuck their way in because the machine network got their hands on the moon-server's data and started imitating it.

So… what confuses me now about the 2nd and 3rd raid of Dark Apocalypse is: How GENUINE do you those Seeds of Resurrection/Destruction are? What I mean is…
if we go only by what we saw in the quests leading up to the 3rd raid and now the 3rd raid itself, I'd probably say "Yeah okay N2 did a damn good job of recreating a Seed via technological means, but nothing more".

However… what's throwing me for a loop now is the last boss of the 2nd raid – that very imperfect imitation of the Seed, and Compound 2P being a rather poor man's version of the Queen Beast.

So I guess my question is: Why do you reckon we got such thematically similar last bosses in the 2nd and 3rd raid, but at such vastly different levels? If the very last one was what N2 was capable of all along, why was Compound 2P so badly put together? Limitations of the "regular" white-garbed android units, maybe?

Or do you think the Seed that Anogg came out of, as well as the one that N2 merged with, are actually not of the machine network's making? Was that what they were looking for when coming to the First, perhaps? Could it be that in the end we got a crossover with not only the Nier universe, but the Drakengard universe as well?

  2. I think I'm perhaps crazy, but the Final Fantasy main theme remix on this song really triggers me a Xenogears feeling on it, I cant describe why, that's strange

Edit : Now I can point it out, it slighly reminds me "Emotion" of the Xenogears ost

  3. The mechanics were crazy, the music was beautiful, and I still don't understand the story. So in a nutshell a real Yoko Taro experience. Easily my fav raid since the second coil. God, I miss Sophie's lore videos.

  4. Kaine's theme mixed with the main theme of final fantasy? this one might actually beat out weight of the world/prelude for my favorite from this raid series

  5. I wish I had ANY idea what was going on here. Is the final boss Kaine?

I've watched a lot of videos on Nier (Gestalt and Automata) lore to try to figure out what the heck's going on. But I had no idea who or what this was supposed to be other than Kaine's theme playing withh the FF theme. Which was beautiful, but I honestly have no clue what was going on story-wise, and how this resolves…..anything? shrug

  6. This music for some reason calmed my mind to an astronomical degree to the point where I never got hit or panicked by mechanics on this boss since the first time I did it. What a masterpiece
