  1. I'm a roleplayer first and foremost – my background is in things like D&D and LARP – so while functionally my characters aren't massively different systems-wise, they exist as very different characters in my head. I also flit fairly frequently on what aesthetic / tone I want – sometimes it's to be the smallest bean with the biggest dumbest weapon protecting larger party members, sometimes it's to be tall and elegant and shoot arrows at people – and a Fantasia addiction at that intensity would be probitively expensive 😂

It's not the most efficient way to play, but I'm having fun.

  2. I made a Viera alt literally just for the Glamour lol. But my main Mi'qote will be Fantasia'd into a Male viera once EW releases.

Skipping through all the cutscenes and stuff on an alt, after about 3 weeks, I'm up up to patch 4.1.

Still so long to go before I even finish the levelling.

Funny enough, thanks to the Menphina's Ear ring, she's up to level 75.

Still a ton of story to get through, and already almost capped xD

  3. Other than there being too much story, this game not being alt-friendly was a huge reason as to why I walked away from it. I do like the idea of being able to level multiple jobs on one character, but I also like having alts. And there was no way I was going to level Palace of the Dead for additional jobs. Epitome of a grind. I would advise anyone getting into this game, to do some research on how much story there is and how it is not alt-friendly at all. You cannot mail Gil (gold/currency) to alts, attire, nothing. That's not say this game doesn't have pluses, but from my point of view, there were way too many negatives to pursue this game further.

  4. My main character I've been playing since ARR came out and I have all jobs maxed. I main war and I'm geared as much as I want to be right now waiting for EW. I made an alt months ago mostly to experience the story again. I'm almost done with stormblood. My alt is a little female lala whm main and shes super fun to play

  5. I came from WOW so am used to alts. When I started playing I made a character of each race to see how they feel in the game. I was able to delete all but four. These are the ones I really enjoy. So now putting multiple jobs on each. Having a blast.

  6. Omnicrafters was not just defined by cross class skills. You need all crafters except cul to make everything in game. Cross class skills was just half of what a omnicrafter was. So omnicrafters r still a thing.

  7. Again someone makes mention of bad queue times. On Aether and Primal playing in US prime time evenings and I have yet to experience a queue time longer than 30ish seconds with most times being about 10-15 seconds. The biggest number in the queue window was in the high 100s but I was in game pretty darn quickly.

  8. The limitations of a vertical progression game whether it is a pro or con to you. You cannot progress indefinitely and wholistically on one character focusing on one path. The only way to have something to do constantly in this game is to do different types of content on one character or make an alt. If you only want to focus on one thing only, then alts are the only path unless you don't mind taking a break until the next patch.

  9. After the events of Titan….. I've made an Una Tayuun alt, sure she's easy to miss for new players who don't talk to the NPCs in the Waking Sands, but she was a 1.0 character. I wanted her to live so I did what I felt was right and brought her back. Got as close as I could to her appearance.

I level skipped her because she's solely for RP reasons, her WHM is almost 71, can't wait to make her a Sage in EW. =3

  10. Or I make an alt that's a lalafell just because my 3 yo niece thinks it looks like her and it makes her happy. And a highlander to play. (As opposed to running around and doing emotes that make a preschooler giggle.)
