  1. The grind for the relic is too little for me. I was expecting something like fate/resource farming in the EW maps. I don't like zerging and teleporting around in hunt train which sucks for me because is one of the two activities you can do in the open world, the other one being treasure maps and even that leads into a instance.

Hopefully next step is more engaging.

  2. If this was a major patch tho from all the past major patch bangers this expansion than yea i'd be dissapointed compared lol.

Godbert fight was HYPE i didnt expect that, using his super sprint to chase down missles before they hit his son in real time omg ๐ŸŒŸ
but did wonder why the instance didnt have an iLV requirement now made sense lol. EW deep dungeon, got to F20 died and stopped, never a fan of this content honestly.

  4. To be honest, I've been disappointed since 6.0. Really hard for me to care anymore about new patches and stuff. Is let down after let down at this point for me in every regard.

  5. the only reason i don't understand why would anyone be anyway near being disapointed in this patch in terms of what content and how much of it was there is cuz they told us about it like a year ago we know what every patch has till 7.0 soo i don't get either hype or disapointment about it.

  6. Well said. I think the patch itself is fine. I love the Hildibrand quests and they didnt disappoint here! I mean, playing as Godbert in a mob- and boss fight? Just the other day, someone joked about how powerful the Manderville family would be, if you'd put actual weapons in their hands XD But then again, I'm a sucker for for this kind of humor, so there's that…

The new deep dungeon? Eh. I dont like them anyway. Never got over floor 40 in PotD and I cant be bothered to ask my FC – ergo, I havent even unlocked HoH, and probably cant even get the quest for EO. Also havent checked out the new crafting weapons, but I'm not big with crafting anyway (even though I have maxed out my crafters). What I "hate" this patch is that gruesome hairstyle, and the Loporitt ear whiggle is really not up my ally: looks cute on lalas, and just plain wrong on anyone else. Though, there will be occasions for that for some players, so… Its just not for me.

  7. I personally love this patch. It helped round out the first part of the patch. Though I am the type that doesn't do a lot of prep for patch content. So I actually have to do a bit of grand to get the items and such. I don't strive to finish everything the day it comes out but tend to take my time with patches. I may unlock everything the first day, but not get to finish it for a while.

  8. I''ll sound dramatic but Endwalker is just underwhelming as a whole to me honestly. Apart from the story, if you're not into RP or hardcore raiding so you can enjoy those new ultimates raids, you just keep doing the same stuff all the time. This game doesn't have enough repetable combat related stuff for people that aren't casual but aren't hardcore raiders. That's why people were hyped for relics. Everyone expected something interesting to do or at least to keep you busy with a nice reward at the end. But they messed up again. Maps gets old quickly, Criterion has no interesting rewards, Island Sanctuary is boring, you can't queue up with friends with pvp… Honestly if you don't RP or take care of new players in an FC, I don't know what keeps people in the game if you're not savage raiding and you've played this game for some time. I'm already seeing some friends quitting because of that and I probably would have too after seeing this patch if I wasn't an FC Leader

  9. Not sure why everyone was hyping this patch up when normally, it's not a mid patch, but major patch that releases all the big stuff. So if anything, it's gonna be 6.4 that's gonna be amazing.

  10. I am a deep dungeon junkie so the new one definitely scratched a much needed content itch for me and i am already working on my solo run. I will definitely agree however that the second relic step just being the exact same as the first was very disappointing. I was also expecting far more of a grind. I definitely didnโ€™t think i would have a shiny new 630 weapon 20 or so minutes after logging in.

  11. I feel like I'm going to come off sounding more toxic than I intend, but I feel like being disappointed by this patch is almost entirely self-inflicted. It's a 0.05 patch. They delivered exactly what they said they would. Nothing more, nothing less. I think 4:08 is a pretty good summary. Like, it's another couple relics. Another deep dungeon. Another tribal questline. I don't think people should expect them to make major changes if they don't explicitly say they're going to. That way, you end up pleasantly surprised if they do make unannounced changes, but you avoid disappointment if they don't.

  12. Not sure what you expected with the weapons. I'm working on my first eureka weapon and I blew through the first four steps in no time. We're only on step two of Manderville. Sorry but the problem seems to be with the expectation not the patch itself. Not saying FFXIV is perfect, but the issues in this video are quite subjective.

  14. I'm sorry… but someone who goes through all/most the content of a patch in one day will always be disappointed. Especially when it's a minor patch. Would you have been happier with part 2 of the manderville weapon if you had to go grind 6 specific raids 50 times to get a single weapon? I did most of the relics in Shadowbringers and it wasn't 'fun'. (Just couldn't bring myself to finish that last step for a couple books! And at this point unless they have us go back into Bozja, they'll probably never get finished.) ๐Ÿ˜† Thankfully grinding the 2nd through 19th weapons was a bit easier than the first one. How much of a grind would make you feel satisfied? What would you consider too much? As someone who doesn't have eight hours a day to play a game I appreciate these first couple steps being easy. I assume there will be harder steps in the future. I assume they'll let everyone get their first glowy weapon easily and then crank up the grind after that.

  15. Hi buns, For those who donโ€™t make it to the end of the video and are jumping to assumptions and this comment section. I am a ok with little to no content on half patches. Thatโ€™s not the issue. The issue is content released that is the exact same make up and methods as the last two months. Not a single thing is new here. It would been better I think, if they just released deep dungeon and held the other two to 6.4. I love ffxiv, and I think itโ€™s okay to converse about things that didnโ€™t really execute well. And that is tomestone grind for 19 jobs repeated and white scrips farm repeated. But yay for bunnies ๐Ÿฐ

  16. I kept saying this patch was "meh." Not bad, but not particularly good. The DoH/DoL and Manderville relics feels almost like a stop-gap rather than proper progression. Like you I'm not into deep dungeons (probably because it could literally take hours to get a party for PotD), and from what I could tell it seems mostly like a reskin of PotD. I agree that Loporrits are the best part, but that's because tribe quests are supposed to be relatively simple and more about a story than creating a challenge. A lot of it comes down to expectations meeting reality.

Overall: It's a meh patch. I'm not mad at SE (so long as it gets better in the next patch), but if you're saving your money and waiting to re-sub, then don't feel bad about staying away for now.

  17. the new patch was strange. i was mixed. i fucking loved the hildibrand quest line. i saw a solo quest line and i thought to myself a boss fight? guess ill switch to my main gnb. then i saw you could play as godbert and my mind was blown.

and i can enjoy the new deep dungeon with friends. idk how it will be later but when i heard we were getting a lv90 DD i thought it was going to be too easy like HOH. in fact with sage i expected to not struggle at all and it surprised me when i was being hit hard. with lv99 aetherpool idk how it would be but i love some of the weapons and i want to grind for it. but if you're not into deep dungeon i can see someone not liking this especially with the bs deaths due to rng. theres a lot of aoes that feel really cheap in it at times.

for the hildibrand weapons i love the weapons but the same steps of red fome grinding is ehhh but it definitely saves me time vs the other relic weapons so it doesnt bother me much but personally i thought it would be cool if they did something unique and gave us remixed dungeons or boss fights with a hildibrand touch to it to just make it silly but fun. it beats doing the same dungeons in roulettes. and i guess when i heard hildibrand weapons i thought we would get more grinds with a silly unique flare to it.

  18. Agree with the point at the end. I don't mind If they put out something that isn't amazing from time to time. Like I'm on break and probably won't resub just for this patch, but there will undoubtedly be a good one later and if you combine that with this patch it makes coming back feel exciting after being away for a while.

The team have been delivering some great content (imo) in the EW patch cycle so it's no reason to be too bummed about it, at least for me.

  19. It's a lot of people's first cycle of updates for ff14.

I don't blame people for being overly hyped for a .05 patch, but hopefully they now know that they tend to be small.
And even then the deep dungeon will be unaccessable to the vast majority of players.
Palace of the dead is niche and deep dungeons are a niche system, and entirely gated off unless you have a consistent group who 1. Play the game and 2. Like deep dungeons.

  20. I prefer the easy 1500 Tomestone Step. Relicsteps so far were always a tedious Grindfest at Day 1. Specially for me as a Raider i have no use in the Weapons aside of nice looking Glams.

  21. Best mini patch in a while. I can make my DoL/H relics, everything but the Deep Dungeon was laugh-filled and fun, hated Eureka and Bozja and I take breaks so the relic being tome based is perfect for me, Lopporit tribe was great, Eureka Orthos was interesting. Enjoyed all of what this patch came with.
