  1. you obviously won't be able to see other players following NPCs. How weird would it be, if there we suddenly 20 alphinauds walking about? You will only see your own npcs

  2. SWTOR had this as a main feature. You always had a companion with you, and they would sometimes offer color commentary befitting their personality as you wandered through zones. Because they were also a major gameplay element, you could waste a lot of time playing "dress up" to give them the gear/look you wanted. They also offered mechanical benefits and would fight alongside you. In other words, they were a lot like the FF14 Chocobo. Except you probably can't raise your romance rating with your chocobo by giving it the right gifts and then having it kiss you with a PG-rated "fade to black". At least, I sure hope not.

  3. I think I heard they will ride in multi seat mounts. Way excited to go cruising with The Twins in my chocobo cart.

    I also hope we get Hillebrand Quests with this feature included

  4. If Estinien is gonna be following me around, I don’t think I’ll be able to finish msq πŸ˜‚ I can def see myself taking a few pics and gposing lol. But I’m also excited for the extra interactions too!

  5. This is honestly not something i ever thought about. What i HAVE considered to be a cool idea is having my retainers follow me as personal customisable companions. Or even the GC squadron outside of dungeons. Would be loads of fun to fight with ones im actually connected with bacstory wise. The scions are meh. I have to deal with them constantly anyway

  6. In FFXI they had an outer world trust system where the trusts would follow you around the world outside of major cities. They would despawn at zone, so you need to summon them again and cast any buffs on them (XI had protect and stoneskin and such that we used to have in XIV). They would talk while they followed you and make comments in fights kind of like the trust system we have now only with a bigger range. Everyone could see these NPCs as they ran with you — but you could set up parties with three people, each person bringing their own trust along to make the traditional party of 6.
