FFXIV Lore- Lets talk about Creation Magic

I’ve been wanting to start a topic on this for a while! So I guess now is as good a time as any. What would you do with the varied powers of creation magic? Let me know in the comment section!

  1. I wanted to expand on this idea–primal summoning would qualify as well, and these beings do persist…albeit with caveats: they take considerable aetheric crystals and reportedly drain the land, making them dangerous, even if relatively nonaggressive otherwise…not unlike what the mages of Mhach and Amdapor were doing to fuel their spells.

This is partly where my theory of accelerated aether might play in, given how this could successfully imitate many spells from that time. Of course, given a certain quest in EW…that could have its own risks and limitations.

  2. One thing that stuck with me is a quest you get in late Shadowbringers, in the Amaurot recreation area. The Ancient giving you the quest eventually rewards you with a 'concept crystal' for a proper set of robes. Said crystal is a lightning crystal cluster. To me, that feels like some forms of crafting fall in the same general category as golemancy; Making a physical object to bind Aether to.

  3. If creation magic couldn't be persistent because the world is only a half of what it used to be, then everything on the moon should've faded away ages back, and best-boy Emet Selch created an entire persistent city in a world that is 1/14th of what aetheric density it used to be.

  4. Quite an interesting video about Creation Magic.
But what about summoning of Susanoo? He wasn’t prayed at the moment. There was no big amount of aether crystals or ambient aether.
And since I mentioned a Primal, can you continue your video cycle about Primals and races who pray for them?

  5. On the topic of "Our creations cannot last long". The sole exception after the sundering is in the First, Ranjit's father's summon. It persisted long after his death and still roamed the land as a hunt mark

  6. This, and the knowledge of Tataru's carbuncle, really makes me wonder how powerful Tataru would've been if she continued to apply herself to martial doctrines. We joke that she's the true final boss of FF14, but the fact that she can create such a long-living carbuncle means she probably has a great well of power that she will never know about, which is kind of cool in it's own right.

We know just how powerful she could possibly be, and it's for our benefit that she never finds out. 😂

  7. Little thought I had, might sound stupid.
Ive always wondered about the sundering part of a soul. Like could Warrior of Light technically go through the shards (If they find a way to do so) and obtain all the pieces of Azems soul. What would happen then, wouldn't that in theory create a new unsundered (only without the direct memories, but more in strength )? if so, did unsundered ascians ever try to create more completed forms of their old colleagues since Source habitants already have most of the soul pieces.

  8. I wounder if the sundering really did impact creation magics viability? We are told by the shades of amurot that it's not unheard of for young people, or ill people, to lack the natural pools of mana necessary to cast creation magic on their own. Thus dose one tell us to equip our selves with a sum a aether harvested from near by monsters and bid us use that to make robes for our selves. but that gives but a single lighting crystal… Is that really all that takes? to make permanent robes? Do we REALLY lack the aether? Or is it just that we haven't developed an understanding of magic deep enough to create things yet. Further more when we say we don't know how, they are confused "How can you not know?! It's something children learn!" or some such.

Much was lost to the sundering, and before that, the final days. If in the chaos they tried to work magic like they always had, with 1/14th the aether being newly sundered, then it's likely they died for the attempt. As trying to cast a spell with out the aether necessary is unwise even for lesser magics. Perhaps seeing that, those left after the sundering assumed they could no long do it, and abandoned the art, when all that they need of done was adapt the art to make slightly thinner but just as permanent creations. Soon after they gave up they died as their thin aether made them mortal as well as weak and ageing. Thus was the art lost?

    It's food for thought.

  9. Since we never see the scope of the wounds, I wonder if any of the healing arts touch on creation magic. It seems plausible to think that certain healers might actually be replacing lost tissues and fluids to some degree.

  10. Imagine what Machinists could create if they learned from the Lopperiets. Building on the battlefield mechanized weapons and automatons of all kinds to completely devastate their enemies with an overwhelming arsenal even bigger and more destructive than before!

  11. Megumin: "Wow! So that means I'm using creation magick, too!"

Synodic: "Actually, your a Black Mage so technically your not creating but…"

Megumin: "MY EXPLOSIONS ARE A WORK ART!!!!!"

    Deidara: "She's right, you know."

  12. I still can't wrap my head around the reflections of the source, are they made manifest in another universe (i.e the existence of a multiverse) or are they just isolated in their own pocket dimension so there's no another reflection of another star present? (could be good idea for a video)

  13. I always felt like what scholars and summoners did been the closest to creation magic. They had concepts to follow through to guide their creation, much like a scholars or summoners tome and the runes within, essentially guiding the aether to a proper and ordered state of being to form something new.

  14. What if, through opening stable rifts between the source and its reflections we’re able to create a new flowing continuance of aether? As in making the full aether of Ethyris accessible without destroying them… WAIT! The Lifestream already does that doesn’t it? I always assumed that the lifestream that Y’shtola went into on the first was the same as ours, that being why Hydaelyn was able to manifest on the first. Couldn’t we use that as a bridge? Especially with things like the aetherscope?

  15. What about porxxies? they seem like good creation magic that we are doing now in 7th astral. I mean we are mass producing them, and that would seem to imply continued persistence as we have handed them out to all the Alliance and beast tribes.
