  2. People meme on SCH not getting much, but I don't think it really needed much either. It was already a largely used healer with a strong kit. And it pretty much got the same stuff as WHM; an updated filler spell and AoE damage spell, a new utility button, the ST buff, and I'm assuming they'll get some other ability with an extra charge or something too.
I think if they balance Sage right, both will be used pretty well. To me, the best setup would be to have SCH stay with the best mitigation in the game, and have Sage be a slightly weaker shields but a bit better throughput option. So some fights will have burstier damage that SCH will shine on, while more consistent damage fights will have Sage work out better.

  3. About that Y'shtola Doll, as hand-made as it is, and as high quality as it is.. The Diablo 4 Lilith Statue is being sold for half that price and about the same scale (24.5 inches vs 24.8). I totally get the apprehension from someone to support Blizzard at a time like this and I totally get the difference given two totally different franchises but when you look at the price and some other statues on off at similar price points, that does seem a tad bit over priced. It is SE though, so it's not entirely unexpected. The dress looks a bit on the plain side but it is cloth and yes, it is a "posable doll" rather than a statue or figma, but the price clearly seems a tad bit out there, even for how much of a niche it is. Personally I would've paid $500 for a Y'shtola statue or less for a Play Arts Kai instead of the Bring Arts that we got, but hey, I know there are plenty of people who are definitely going to buy this. (I have a lot of thoughts regarding EVERYTHING ELSE but I'd rather just wait until the expansion drop to see how everything plays out, so far though I am incredibly satisfied, and #SaveScholar .)

  4. I appreciate the summary! I'm always scared to watch these live letters in case something gets spoiled for me. I'm really excited about almost all of the classes, a little underwhelmed by scholar though

  5. I have been maining Scholar for 7 years and I'll be switching to Sage immediately.
What they do to Scholar is downright disrespectful for the players who saw their beloved battle librarian butchered and still mained it throughout Shadowbringers.

There are so many things that clunk in their kit. Pet unresponsiveness, Seraph not being able to use Fairy Gauge abilities and Dissolution, Dissolution removing access to so many actions (from 3 in HW to 6 in ShB), the reliance on Energy Drain, the "thrill" of using 80% of GCDs for damage while having their DPS kit all but removed and the amount of many tiny heals and HoTs that you don't feel the impact of. We don't even have the ability to glamour our fairies. I don't want a fairy, I want a carbuncle!

As a Scholar main, I accepted this because surely they brought all healers down to this level to go in a new exciting direction with the Scholar but no. There is apparently nothing wrong with it, there is not much they wanted to change.
After trying to take away one of the most essential actions in Energy Drain (TWICE already) and showing no love for Scholars at all, I am done giving them the benefit of the doubt. I WILL be a Sage in Endwalker and I will only return if Scholar proves to be worth my while. Or if I realise that I am more a sucker for the battle historian aesthetic than I am a fan of interactive, flashy combat with a kit that doesn't actively try to frustrate the player.

  6. I like the SMN preview – always wanted to try it and 6.0 might be a good point to jump in. As a healer main I didn't expect a lot of changes but I will try all four jobs at launch. Great video – thanks for staying up so late and yet being so professional and coherent with the video.

  7. So mnk has 3 charges where you get target ally yet here's my drg loosing a button prompt because 'people can't be arsed to keep it it' (although having it drop because long arse in boss fight cinematic is a pain)
I remember they did this a few years ago with heavy thrust combo took it out because it separated the hardcore drg and the mediocre.

  8. I picked Bard thinking it would be a fun ranged DPS with support capabilities. Turns out it's a fun ranged DPS but the only song worth a damn is Mage's Ballad, and that's only because it lets me spam Rain of Death. It would be nice if my songs actually provided worthwhile buffs to the party.

Also that new Aethernet UI will be a godsend.

  9. I’m very excited to see how Natsuko concludes the Zenos arc. Most folks don’t particularly care for him but I’m confident she’ll end up putting a satisfying bow on it. ❤️

  10. With SMN basically being gutted, it makes me wonder if all we've seen of it so far is just the remade 1-80 stuff. Like I really hope at 90 we get a third bahamut/phoenix type summon. And Im hoping for shiva. Surely these changes arent implemented after 80 because with removal of dots, that would make 1-60 quite a horrid gameplay experience.

  11. Not sure if I like the "Sage is gonna be like WoW Disc priest"… never liked that one… Hopefully SE does a better job than Blizz with that… In theory its fun I suppose…

  12. Thank you for the recap, Meoni! You provide the best FFXIV content and have for many years 🙂
So really, we're getting 3 new jobs (since SMN = "brand new job"). As a SMN main since I started playing XIV back in 3.0, I am definitely most excited, but also the most nervous, about the upcoming changes to it. IT LOOKS AWESOME!! But it being "brand new" makes me worried they'll screw it up. It's also going to be very weird not having DoTs at all, when the #1 rule used to be make sure you keep your DoTs up! Lol
Much love from Arizona, USA 🌵💚

  13. What makes me laugh the most about the SCH changes is that noone even knows the future mechanics that will be coming with the new expansion, so all these assumptions are quite funny. This ability was added for a reason. As a SCH main, I see no issues.
