  1. I don't have enough experience with tanks to really weigh in. I think it's odd that there isn't a new tank class, but I also don't know what a new tank job would even be. In general I feel like they should reimplement a basic elemental weakness and resistance. Admittedly, I only want this because otherwise the ninja has a lot of abilities that do the same exact thing.

  2. As a fellow controller player, I think the biggest change the tank toggle brought was less button bloat since didn't have enmity rotation and then damage like it use to be. But to add to Brian's point, if we are going to get more skills to squeeze on, does a continuation style button help resolve that?

  3. I’d love to see higher skill but as controller player, I don’t have much room for new stuff. They need to upgrade skills/actions or do like in PvP with combos. I’d like to see Warrior get a change to the gap closer, give Warrior a dot like all the other tanks.

  4. Don't nerf Sam or mch buff drg let Blu go to 90 with new spells cool spells like the party wiping flare from crystal tower final boss and the some of bahaumets spells more over world spells to

  5. If they end up adding a bunch of new buttons without taking away any, I can see the combo buttons. As is, though, there aren't any jobs that I can't fit everything on.

  6. I think Dark Knight or Paladin could get a res. As a casted cooldown ofc (like BLU res).
On top of being a cast I think it should cost +50 Blood or Oath gauge. Maybe on DRK it would be fitting it costed some health too, and on Paladin a lot of mp. Probably not gonna happen but would have that wow-factor.

  7. I'd like to see Living Dead reworked to feel more like a second chance than an invuln. Maybe instead of going into Walking Dead, you reset to full resources and gain a short damage buff, give it more of a "rage through the pain" kind of feel. Or maybe instead of becoming a burden on the healer, Walking Dead gives you Blood Weapon and you have to fill your gauge to survive.

  8. I'm not a tank main, but stuff discussed made me realised that the 7 button rotation for dragoon can simply be made as 3 buttons. We already have it sort of if you hit the last positional correctly, True Thrust becomes Raiden Thrust. Well why can't when I use Vorpal and Disembowl turn in the actions that they have as a combo. Would probably make it bit more boring, but would allow more things to be added so dragoon is not such a by the book class. 8 actions 3 buttons, while you focus on OGCD use instead. Think of all the "different" jumps we could use to tank the floor better.

  9. I would love to see changes to PLD to make him more of a PLD, like giving him a res, or giving him more "tanky" spells, dude's the only one with a shield but every attack uses the sword , not even tank CDs uses de shield for the animation, only the stun.

  10. I hope the "If I don't use mitigation, not my problem the pressure is on the healer " is hyperbole. As someone who has primarily played healer for years if a tank on one of my runs has that attitude I will let you DIE! My job is to keep players who are doing their jobs alive. Not DPS who repeatedly refuse to handle mechanics and tanks who repeatedly fail to use their toolkit.

  11. My biggest thing is that I want Paladin to be the super tanky tank with lower damage, compared to the other tanks with big ass weapons that somehow feel tankier than Paladin. Also a lot of Paladins kit just makes it seem like they're more fitted to an off tank position, despite them being the ones with a shield and not a big ass sword/axe/gunblade. Plus, as they said in the video, a lot of buttons that are just super situational (Passage of Arms) and some that just feel terrible (Divine Veil), I hope to see them get changed up or squished down.

  12. I kinda hope they keep lower skill floor at least on a couple of tanks. Lower skill floor means more accessible which means more non-tank mains willing to tank, which means I get shorter que times. xD

  13. I've only ever tanked during shadowbringers (when I started playing). I can't see it being more difficult. The tank on/off button actually really helped me overcome my anxiety in the process. I really hope they don't take that away lol.

  14. I am currently leveling up Dark knight and it will be my first level 80 job. I really love how it works. I agree with Max and Asmongold when they say that gap closers shouldn't do damage. They really shouldn't. you should be able to charge a boss or a mob without doing damage. If you must have it do anything, make it stun the mob instead if its a normal trash mob, bosses would remain unaffected.
I also agree that its wrong that the warrior gap closer costs a resource when the others dont. I'm still not sure what job I'm gonna main. I wanna say Dark knight, but I'll decide after I've leveled all the tanks to 80. Machinist will be my only level 80 dps job, I will do all the other to 70 at some point for the God of War title, but thats it. I'm gonna try reaper in Endwalker, but I get that dragoon vibe from it. meaning: "it looks cool, but is probably complex to play (lots of combos and positions like ninja)" and so I will not like it. But lets see. I've always been a fan of ranged dps over the melee, but tanks are the best.

  15. In my personal opinion, they should allow you to have the same level of skills you had in ARR, but just evolve those skills when you level. Meaning: same amount of skills as you have now, but you just get the weaker versions of them by level 50. Then they evolve and so on. So the skills we get in end walker don't have to be added, they're just new versions of the skills we already have slotted.

  16. Not going to lie the ShB war changes were what really hurt the game for me. I LOVED being a reactive tank(and with lower response times it helped people like me do better) and even in 2.0 it just felt like i was a berserker barely holding back waiting until safe to unleash the rage when safe to do so.

Buut these days? It just doesn't feel that way even with the changes they've done to fix the poor survivability we had at ShB launch..It's just lacking in that feeling.

  17. I would not like to see stance dancing come back. While I thought it was fine mechanically, it brought an elitism to tanking. High skilled tanks would put pressure on thier healers when they didn't need too and low skilled tanks would try to stance dance because that is what a good tank supposedly does and cause wipes when it would have been better for them to just keep thier tank stance on. And all that caused friction in the player base. So good riddance I say.

  18. GNB change? Making Gnashing combo 2 buttons 1 button Gnashing Fang that changes after each press and the continuation button. Its otherwise perfect but I feel this reduces the button bloat. As a PLD main I hope a reduction of buttons. Dark Knight is fine besides the annoying Living Dead issue. I dont play WAR lol

  19. I'm personally against the idea of the pvp skill stacking style. I think at higher levels of play, it adds another layer of skill to be able to properly hit your buttons in the correct order alongside doing mechanics and that feels a lot more rewarding. Especially as a Ninja main, with skill rotations like this being a part of our style as a melee DPS, I really don't want that taken away from me. Despite having to have three Mudras and a Ninjutsu button to cast on top of everything else, I don't really feel a button bloat. I believe I still have about 5-10 hotkeys and a whole hotbar or two to spare. One hotkey actually be freed up if they consolidated Assassinate with Dream Within a Dream because it's nonsensible to have them as two separate buttons when one cannot ever be used before or without the other. I would imagine tanks shouldn't be as hard pressed to find space on their hotbars for new skills as long as they aren't putting things on there that they don't ever use in raid. However, I am on mouse/keyboard and are using SHIFT, CTRL, and ALT modifiers. I don't have an MMO mouse, but my mouse does have three mouse buttons (two on the side and the mouse wheel). So take that into consideration.

  20. I know it was just a passing comment but, please DO NOT make Beastmaster a tank if it ever happens. As someone who came from FFXI I'm still salty DRK is a tank, I'd be heartbroken if my other favorite was a tank too…

  21. doing the PVP style combo actions would take some serious getting use to. If they made it an optional choice it would be great As a contoller player I see its appeal. I love my PLD but switching between melee and spell rotations can be a pain. Definitely after a long break or playing a different class. I almost forgot about the spell rotation after levelling up my Drk.
