  1. I love this game and its story, and I really like how much effort and compassion they put into it to make it even better! Thank you Yoshi-P & Team for making all this happen!

  2. The graphical update… hm, I'm somewhat indifferent about it, honestly. FFXIV looks great already, but if the dev team can improve upon what is already on offer, then I say they should go for it!

Castrum Meridianum and Praetorium becoming four man dungeons? Oh boy, what is that going to look like? Thankfully, with the update to the Trust system, Castrum won't take as long. Trust companions do their jobs and they follow mechanics, so I am very excited for this change!

For those who want longer, time-wasting, janky runs of Castrum, well… y'all can queue up in the roulette and party-up with players that don't know nor care what they're doing! HA!
That option isn't going away, and with the reduced party size, it shouldn't take as long to wait around for a full team.

As for the rest? It all sounds great! The new deep dungeon, Criterion dungeon, expansion to glamour plates and maybe(?) the dresser space, absolutely fantastic. Island Sanctuary coming out eight months from now in 6.2? Yeah, that's actually what I was expecting, (I honestly don't know why people are complaining that it's not coming sooner.) No mention of relic weapons? I'm rather indifferent about this as well. Remember when people started bitching for no reason about the designs for the Bozja relics? Maybe the dev team is taking their time to come up with designs that fewer people won't complain about. Who knows?

Our man, Hildy is coming back and I couldn't be happier about it! WOOO!
Increased time between patch cycles? YES, PLEASE! We all know what happens when games and patches are rushed out without proper care being put into them!
Give the devs TIME to work, give them TIME to rest so they can put their best effort into FFXIV, for the love of Bahamut!

This Live Letter was altogether nice to watch and thank you, Meoni, for your hard work in providing this summary. 🙂

  3. It's so funny, I just got into Gposing and using other things to improve my shots for an RP profile, but I'm almost wondering if I should just hold off on it until 7.0. Gonna go back and watch some of the critical cutscenes in the new engine.

  4. Kinda wondering/worried how they will work with Au Ra since they got all those scales and such.
I use a texture mod for scales and such, so hoping i wont have to anymore with 7.0~

  5. You can see the face models are slightly higher res, especially on the round cheeks. And the reflections on the eyes and lips are just shader and texture improvements.
Still missing subsurface scattering on skin though. Hair could do with a few more layers too, instead of just a higher res texture since it lacks depth.

That lighting. Almost looks like global illumination is being added. Don't like the Titania images, it's completely changed the colour temp of the scene, changing the cold sinister feeling.

  6. loved this game— the only thing i didnt like is if i fell behind on the story and my friends were playing a dungeon that was further in the story i couldnt join them– so while they're playing together im off on my own trying to complete the 30 quests to get caught up…

  7. My big concern with the graphics is that, unfortunately a lot of people who built their pc in the last few years were totally shafted in terms of VCards, and those prices still haven’t dropped. I’m hoping my pc can keep up with this update…

  8. Just personally, I really hope they make the trust system flexible in a way that allows more than one player to play the same trust run. There are couples and friends who'd like to play together but not with randoms…

  9. I just want to add to the Titania section, for those that didn't watch the livestream, the reason the lights are red in the after image is because Yoshi P requested it specifically for the demonstration so he can better see the effect it's having, the lights won't actually be red when they're done.

  10. i wonder if it would be a good idea to even remove multiplayer normal trials from the game entirely and only have the extreme versions be with other players. Instead they would be solo trials with trusts and maybe your friends in your group. Trials are not exactly challenging or super interesting after you completed them for the first time.

  11. my highlight is definitely more bot dungeons. i hate the dungeon meta in this game. the constant rushing is stressful and annoying. i'll return to ff14 as soon as stormblood dungeons can be run with bots. mmos are just not for me.

  12. these are more than textures… these are intricate, engraved, architecture piece, worthy of attention, admiration, or even study.. all this summarized in high resolution, accessible through certain degree of knowledge and of course admiration, also a bit of sub price
