  1. Considering it doesn't mention how many simultaneous lottery entries one player can have, I'm guess because of layout of the Timer menu, it only allows one at a time maybe.

  2. I lost my dream house in Kugane because I was called for lunch as I waited for the chance to click, and it was all over when I got back from doing the dishes. And only the Twelve know how many people in the clicking crowd were actually automated bots. This new system seems a lot fairer in terms of chance, just like the Jumbo Cactpot at the Gold Saucer.

  3. It's unfortunate we have to go to a lotto system. But having been keeping track of RMT botters over the last few years, at the moment you have an almost 0% chance of getting a house if one of their operations is there at the placard. They've fine tuned their bot programs to packet bomb placards and almost guarantee they'll be the one getting the house when it becomes available.

At least with the lotto they lose that advantage entirely.

  4. Thank goodness for this, I really hope it works out. I've never had any housing in the game mostly because of the FCFS basis, since I work a lot and have weird hours, thereby missing every single window of opportunity. I hope a lot more people — including casual players who don't log in every single day — can get themselves a little slice of home. My retainer has his hands full with all the limited/event furniture I've collected over the years 😅

  5. If I"m gonna lose my dream plot to a bot, I'd rather be able to do it while I'm off doing something else, not falling asleep at a placard.
Hell, when we were trying to get our FC house before the last housing patch we had a few members sit at a placard for eight hours and lose it when a huge group of people showed up all at once.

  6. Thats why Im not a fan of looking at a specific plot, and just going for size period. Though i can see it being annoying that you can only enter for 1 at a time. Means nothing in ishgard will be available for a long time if you lose the first week.

  7. so my question is can one account with 4 alts that meet the level and rank requirement for an FC be able to bid on a house.. or is it 4 seperate accounts? I hope that it's multiple accounts required.

  8. Just so Im understanding correctly. Even if you already own a plot and wanted to relocate to Ishgard we would just enter into the lottery system right? and if we don't win – we will not lose our old plot that we already have right?

  9. I'm calling it now, this will be even more of a shitshow than the current system is. Instead of it being camping vs 20 ppl, it's now gonna be a lottery vs. 50-100 if not more. On the FC level it's gonna be hundreds, most of which will again just be bots/rmt. I will any day take a 1v20 camping vs a 1% chance of getting a house, while also having my money locked away for multiple days.

  10. Glad I already have a Large plot in a suitable location because this does not sound like a very good system for large plots or those trying to get prime locations like Lav bed, Shiro, or Firm. Trying for one of these means you might end up with no house at all . Those that want small or gob / Mast locations will have much less competition.

  11. Thanks for this breakdown. I hadn't ever considered housing outside of the apartment I have…mostly because of the housing-savage stories I've heard. But now that I finally have a bit of gil, about 40 mil built up, and knowing the steps, I might consider this.

Just so I have this right, you basically have 5 days to enter a lottery for a plot you want, put up the listed gil for it, and then within four days after that you will know if you won or not? Right? Then you just have to go back to the placard to accept your plot or get your refund, correct?

  12. I just wish you could at least purchase multiple tickets, because if I'm understanding this correctly you can only purchase one ticket for one plot. I wouldn't even mind losing part of the gil I put in for multiple tickets, lemme gamble.

  13. any system to stop the bot menace is a good system in my book. I do hope they keep the lotto system for a good while and resort to first come first serve later on. I dont mind at all losing to another player, but i've lost to too many lala bots and it's always a big let down in my clicking spree when i see one of them approach the placard.

  14. They haven't said anything about the apartments, right? Instead of a plot I'm interested in an apartment, and I'm guessing they'll be subjected to the same lottery system, but since they haven't really said much about it I'm a little confused about that.

  15. Are we all really this stupid? Everyone is acting like if you don't get a plot, "Hey, no big deal, just try again in nine days!" People, there are only adding 1,440 new plots per server. So guess what: there will only be ONE Lottery. There will be no second lottery, as all the new plots will be gone, especially since they are no longer reclaiming abandoned plots. Why can't people see this? The problem wasn't the purchasing system. It was there simply isn't enough housing, and adding a measly 1,440 plots to a game with over 20 million players and expecting it to solve the problem is insane.

  16. Does lottery system give a number to how many people who have their bid on house so people can avoid placing their bid on that house and go to another house with a smaller amount of bid since you can only use one bet for every five days.
