  1. My FC got hit with the #0 loss when we were the only one who entered. It sucks but oh well, it will be fixed and we will get it eventually. But let's not act like they aren't trying to give us what we want.

  2. Just noisy entitled gamers. Be grateful you have a housing system at all. Some games have been promising us housing for literally over a decade with no intention of actually following through.

  3. I feel bad for everyone who’s gotten the bugs. It feels weird to be excited about the results, because me and my friends who are a tiny FC were so excited yesterday morning at getting our small house in the new district. I’ve been playing the longest but all of us are fairly new so we were saving up months just to be able to afford the small.

Hope this gets fixed soon for people.

  4. Well I have jump on forums about this housing since it release 2.3 or 2.38 can't remember, but we encourage them to make a instance Housing like in SWTOR which has the best of the best housing system. Or Mog house like in FF11 but here comes Island Sanctuary which is like the Mog Garden in 11 hopefully this will be the new housing system.

  5. This situation sucked for my FC… We were the only entries for a house and I somehow lost to no one. I'm profoundly unlucky. I've always found the housing system flawed. It's mostly down to the number of houses. I hope they can fix it. If they don't give the houses to people who entered unopposed, I don't think I'll ever be able to get my FC a house. My luck is so bad, I'm pretty much certain that I can't get my FC a house without entering unopposed.

  6. It's frustrating because Tuesday I competed with 3 or 4 people on a small house, and next time I'll probably be competing with 200 on the same small house depending on how many got hit with the bug, so that was my chance to get a house and I didn't even lost it fairly because I got the 0 bug. I'm not going to flame the devs or the community on the forums like those very special people, but I'm not gonna smile and pretend it's not frustrating. Also, people keep saying just make housing instanced like in ESO but no thank you I actually want neighbors. If the island is instanced housing that's cool but that's not what I want.

  7. Brian. My grandson just got over something like this. Fever and vomiting.. I think things go around at school . I'm so happy he's better… Your son . And I'm sure it was hard and your family in glad it seems over. That being said thank you for still posting an update. And agree about the things said regarding voices and the relativity to each person as long as they are being hateful or toxic. Thanks again for taking time during your busy life to give to the community you love.

  8. Poor Yoshi has had to apologise a few times over the last 6 months. 😅 The quality assurance department hasn’t been doing a good job. 🤣 Jokes aside, another problem might cause players to stop putting their trust in the FFXIV team. 😣 Which is a shame because they’ve done such amazing work over the years! 🥺 But those who are new to the game likely won’t feel that way as they arrived only recently and didn’t see that work for themselves. Folks are going to need to be patient and that’s not always an easy attitude to have. At least the dev team is responding quickly to help the players and more importantly, fix the problem! I for one am looking forward to when the system works well and players can enjoy their new houses! 😃 Thank you for your honesty and calm demeanour Brian. Stay safe. ❤️

PS: Hope you and the little ones feel better soon!

  9. Overall I think this patch was great and they fulfilled the promise of good content to come. MSQ was good, the raid was good, PVP! but yeah, for systems like housing it seems like they have put themselves in a shit situation (from as far back as the system was implemented is what I hear online). The watering down of jobs is what really makes me worry (SAM went bland and really lost its soul without Kaiten). Idk, it just seems that the game may be getting to big to maintain an even quality for all of its features. Yoshi P can't do it all. I hope they figure something out.

  10. You guys serioisly need to lay off the dev team, they put in a lot of work and spend countless days making sure the game runs as smooth as it can. They are people just like you and me, mistakes happen, things happen that even they don't expect. So lay off them.

  11. IMO there are three critical changes for housing that MUST occur to help detoxify the player base around housing: 1) Island Sanctuaries is a viable personal housing alternative (this will reduce demand on the ward personal housing). 2) Island Sanctuaries provides the same gardening that housing does, but allows you to use minions to automate certain tasks so you don't need to be checking in with it daily (the thinking here is that minions replace what was originally intended for FC members to help do). 3) Workshop access becomes available to us via either Garlond Ironworks, or via Tataru. (We have done so much for Garlond Ironworks, that having workshop access for us and the Scions would be kinda logical, and would also cleanly handwave how Tataru got an airship).

I realize with 2 & 3 that doing so would likely crash the markets for all voyage and garden related items, but at the end of the day, doing so would also reduce the desire for players to want to control multiple workshops, thus multiple FCs. This (in turn) would help the housing situation because you are (again) reducing demand on housing because people are going to want to use the FC as more of a social thing. I honestly can't think of another way to players that are using FCs as a personal gil generators without screwing over the legitimate micro-FCs (that is FCs below 4 members – which is the number of players needed to create the FC).

  12. Housing has really discombobulated this game. It does need a rework eventually. However I didn't get the house I wanted but I grabbed a apartment till later date I'm content. Glad your son is doing better and get some rest feel better. Pvp yes, people not pushing or stopping crystal fighting in mid. Well.. Ranking is the challenge. Lol.

  13. Glad your son’s better. Be sure to catch up on sleep! Health and family are more important than anything else.

Personally think this has been thrown out of proportion. Yeah it’s a little stressful for those that would’ve won but this new system is far better than sleepless nights stood at a sign waiting for bots to snag the house. This will be remedied by the developers and they shouldn’t be receiving threats. Bugs happen; especially within a game with so much code within it.

This system will be a giant leap for housing once the bug has been found. Having said that it’s okay to be frustrated and voice it. But some of the community need to remember that these are real people just trying to do what they love and continue to create a BETTER product for players.

Mistakes happen. We’re all human after all. Hopefully, everyone gets the housing they would’ve/should’ve won.

  14. This is an excerpt from a post I had in a discord I belong to.
"I don't like gambling especially not with months of time invested into the ticket. It could have been 50% lottery, 50% first come split between both the fc and personal but instead, they went whole hog with the gambling aspect. Literally gacha mechanics for housing and then mucked up the math, in a system that cannot possibly service it's entire player interests. It's a bad system, riddled with problems, regardless of it being lottery, first come, or mixture of both.

So even if I do/did win a house on round 2 or 3, I will feel scummy knowing there's people who want to be designers, who will never, EVER get a house with the current system

    and that, sucks."
This also doesn't account for the fact that Ishgard effectively added 360 Personal plots. But because they retroactively applied that split to the other districts, that dropped it by 4,320 personal plots. So in total, we LOST 3,960 personal plots. If you go look at the FC wards, They're effectively UNTOUCHED aside from the larges and some mediums, but even Mediums in some wards had 0 bidders. Not 0 winners, 0 BIDS. This entire system is vastly, significantly worse than it was even without the 0 winner bug.

  15. I have a bid in on a house, haven’t checked if I got it or not but if I didn’t regardless of the bug or not worst I’m going to be is “that sucks but oh well”

That’s the most it should ever be, you will get your money back, maybe get a lottery ReRoll on that lot. They had a bug they’re fixing it end of story.

  16. Off Topic: Dude, your making want to play Dragoon so much, lol!

On Topic: I wasn't entirely expecting to buy a house, but yeah. Best to wait for this error to be fixed and not get too consumed in the outrage. Things will get fixed.

Just hope the Kaiten and damage issues thing with Samurai gets reverted. It's not fun to play anymore… 🙁

  17. I hope thatthey are able to actually resolve the #0 losses and award those houses to the winners. On my server, I think it is pretty safe to say that almost every FC who wanted a house, was able to get one, being that the only bids on any given house were all from the same FC. There were numerous FC houses that had 0 bids placed on them with less than one hour left before the lottery ended, which I was manually checking every house.

Upon checking every personal house in Empyreum, there was a minimum of 7 bids, and an average 11.2 bids. There was no competition on my server for FC houses, except perhaps for larges. I saw no less than 5 different guilds having a party in the lot where they had all of the 10-20 bids placed on the Medium House. I have checked my specific ward in Empyreum, and none of the houses are displaying that #0 won, but there are still a few unclaimed houses, and a few claimed houses with no house constructed. (This comment is 30 hours after the drawing. And winners have 4 full days to claim)

I would be pretty happy if they flipped the wards on the next wave, with 1-18 being personal only. This thought is due to the lack of immediately observable impact that the bots/house flippers had on this wave of housing. Last month in 6.0, people were selling an empty FC for 200m on my server because it came with a 3m gil small house, and they had several to choose from.

  18. i myself was hit with this bug when putting down the money for a large plot in Ishgard and my fc; House Borel Knights was understandably disappointed but i believe in and trust Yoshi-P to fix this issue. i believe everyone needs to keep in mind that it's a brand new system, it's not going to be flawless and there will be bugs, even ones like the 0 participants bug/glitch, that slip through the radar and need to be ironed out. personally i think everyone needs to calm down, take a breather and realize that while not perfect, XIV is still a very good game with a ton of stuff to do in the meantime while the devs work their magic. i just hope we can all keep in mind that the devs work around the clock to ensure we have an amazing experience. no game is truly perfect and those imperfections is what gives games like the final fantasy franchise it's own charm.

  19. What surprises me is that the system is completely broken. Like it doesn't work at all. Aren't FFXIV devs testing stuff in internal test servers? Or are they coding and YOLOing it to production?

  20. I understand the frustration and empathize with those who have been victimized of this bug. But I feel sad when some in the community, even prevalent members, consider the bug a huge screw up or that 6.0 and/or 6.1 is bad.

I wonder if this bug was something that couldn't show up in testing, maybe it couldn't be found unless in a live situation? And like you Brian, I feel that the devs and Yoshi-P are working very hard and have earned my respect several times over. I have no idea what creating an MMO is like, but I will forever admire them for all the work they put in.

I personally really enjoyed both 6.0 and 6.1 and I can't wait to see what will be coming next. Very excited for Island Sanctuary for example, content that no one had even imagined but everyone got excited for, so much so that the devs decided to work harder on it to meet expectations, even though it will never be an Animal Crossing.

I'm looking forward to the next update about the housing issue and hope they will be able to fix it soon.

  21. I gotta say, I thought the community were more mature, but twitter is twitter I guess and toxicity always seems to flow over there. Honestly, the fact they're aware and will fix the issue. Things happen, not the first time we've had bugs and such. Most games have them, Elden Ring for example has more issue than most games. Yet gets 10/10 lol

  22. remember guys don't get your hype too high for island sanctuary. they haven't promise it to be a replacement to the housing system (we've barely heard any info about it actually) the community has been reaaaalllly hyping it up and we really need to curb that.

  23. Hope you son gets better soon. Real life stuff is what we all deal with. Your opinion is all over the place. Your like an oscillating fan, bragging about being a pain with your dev experience to the FFXIV, but all you do is add other subjects that you consider an issue and STILL defend FFXIV. This video is such a waste of time. It's real simple, I'm the only buyer for a larger lot for my FC . One buyer with my estate timer showing the number one and the placard showing number zero. The fix is simple give me my lot and take my gil that I never accepted back or I'LL SPEND MY MONEY WITH SOMEONE WHO HONORS AND RESPECTS ME AS A CUSTOMER!!!!!
