FFXIV Housing Lottery Ward Update!

Finally Square Enix is opening up some Housing Wards for Personal Use!
See which and when in this video.

The FFXIV housing lottery has certainly been a mixed bag. For busy servers, it’s been better to enter the lottery versus trying to win a click battle for a FFXIV Private Estate with a hundred other players. However, the split between personal and free company wards has been terrible for anyone looking for a personal house in FFXIV.
Especially those of us who have been waiting years for Ishgard Housing to launch around the time of Endwalker. If you want a large personal house in any ward, and didn’t win the first lottery, you basically have zero chance now. Which is very frustrating for many of us.
This ward designation change may be too little too late for many of us, but if you’re looking for a small cottage in FFXIV, this is a perfect time to win one.
Good luck everyone!

  1. Thanks for the update. I've heard of people giving up larges, usually for mediums. Arguably mediums do have a better item ratio for more complex designs. But the reason I've heard was more like – it's too big and I can't fill it up… Personally, I could come up with at least 10 "cozy" large house designs achievable even by a new player with moderate expertise and funds, but that's because I think of housing more as a decorating playground than an actual house. So you never know. Good luck in your search. That large is waiting for you somewhere someday.

  2. Thanks for the update. I enjoy your videos. This is still not going to do anything to the housing crisis. On our server (Diablos) the two cottages I was looking at last week had 185 and 181 people bidding on them. I bid on the one that ended up at 181. There were five or six other cottages up the same window and not sure how many bid on those. With them opening up all the wards instead of just 10-24 for private they are still hundreds short. The 9 day window is ridiculous as well. Give it max two days to bid and two days to claim it. If you can't do it in that amount of time then you really aren't looking for a house that badly. This whole things needs a revamp and many, many more wards.
