I think the part where he talks about being negatively impacted… there were people who were the only entry, but still lost due to the bug. They removed their gil when prompted. But then they were worried they should have left their GIL IN THE HOUSE to keep their “claim” on it. What I think Yoshi P is saying is, if that was you, we still have it on file in the data that you SHOULD have won. So removing your gil won’t negatively impact. I think 😂
I think the part they are talking about are the people who lost in the lottery and accepted they're gil back (which was me). Maybe making sure that I'm not prevented from entering again or that I'm not flagged for shenanigans.
I think the true issue is housing isn't available for all paying players.
It sucks for all the people that got disqualified from winning a house for reasons out of their control. But as a player who won a house, I’m kind of stressing and it would be nice if they just came out and said that they aren’t going to take away houses from people who won.
A brand new update was posted as of 04/18 7:50am with more information! Seems they have identified the issue and need a few days to test and make sure before applying fixes!

so this debunks that reddit post i saw claiming a lot of those that were the last to bid after the hotfix were winning, thought it was a stretch but since i lost a plot to it myself, guess i was grasping at straws lol hope anyone affected by this gets 0 winner bug gets compensated, and hopefully theyll open up more wards or unrestrict the fc wards soon
housing in the game was always stupid. since day one
Everyone that lost in the lottery was disadvantaged as they were competing in a raffle pool that had a ball with the number 0 on it.
I have also used the phrase "Eliminating Variables" to describe that process. I learned it when I was working on the A+ back in 2006/7. "When troubleshooting a hardware problem unplug any peripherals you don't need to eliminate variables"

If i am understanding this, there are winners but just had their rewards shipped to a blank address? So if they did win after they fix this they will get the house they won by using the logs?
As long as I get my FC's house I don't care. I want a house a small, and FC small, that way all my alts can have rooms in it. I have anxiety and the only FC's that I've been in are either hyper aggressive pvpers or ones where literally noone talks and they are just there for the boosts. I made my own FC levelled it up and earned the gil. I was the only bidder and lost to 0. I'm happy they have said this but after the incident it's hard for me to not expect more issues or errors with them giving people their houses.
Can't wait to lose again once the issues get resolved since their will be even less medium sized housing available to choose from.
See, I don't mind the current housing system for FC housing ONLY. The problem came when they mixed personal and FC housing into the same system. Personal housing should have been what this island sanctuary thing "sounds" like it's going to be.
The system was designed poorly.

So I know this is a basic question. But isn't every character guaranteed an apartment? And then housing is just an upgraded apartment?
If that's true, then wouldn't making apartments better… help leviate the housing issue. Obviously, housing for everyone would be better, but the current system is baked into the game. Like how the original classes are baked into the job system… which means you can't change that setting unless the entire game's engine is fixed.
