Was there ever any doubt? 😀
I feel that after you've experienced a more civil community like FFXIV you really notice how exhausting the ''fu got mine'' attitude, that is so common in online games, is to play in. And you become very protective of that kinder way of playing with others. The people behind the game deserve this recognition.
Am currently trying out ESO a bit and it's a damn struggle every time something requires the slightest cooperation of a group of other random players. It's so tiresome when it takes so little to just not be a jerk towards others. You don't even have to be kind or positive, just not actively mean.
The people behind FFXIV truly deserve being recognized for their hard work pulling the game up from it's ROUGH beginnings. It's couldn't have been easy and they've earned all the praise they're now being bestowed.
I'm sorry…. people were angry that you enjoyed the game? People are weird.
I hope Yoshi is proud of us pwp

Most condescending, sarcastic, and narcissistic community hidden behind a mask of tolerance and warm welcomes. Make one mistake and the mentors peace out and people call you a smoothbrain which is sooo much better than being called a rtard. I've seen it second hand far to often. I am not fooled.
Tbf idk if there's any actual competition in this category lol, most games allow their social culture to become a sad and deranged incel frat house
I agree with FFXIV winning this award ofc… but why the fk are we giving the Golden Joysticks, of all things, any attention when they made TLOU2 Game of the Year last year? lol. They're a joke.
I am thankful for your great videos , I have watched you from Wow to FF14 (my new home) . You have always put out great content. Look forward to seeing more
Quazil any chance you could do a meme coverage video comparing the FFXIV language of the ancients to the new 9.2 'robot' language and how they're almost an exact duplicate of each other? Hahaha…..
I like your shirt!
Finally those pencil pushers found out there are other online games than Fortnite and CoD.
Also to narrate a story from another player who had come from WoW, when he first tried tank, he made it clear to the team he was running with that he was new and if the team preferred a more experienced tank, he understood and will leave. The team instead just laughed it off and said that how is he going to get good if he does not learn, something along the line. Comments around the post was on how in WoW that was the culture and if you are new, you just get kicked out of the party. FFXIV certainly has got something good going on for others to learn from.
Forgot Squeenix doesn't charge pre-orders until 2 weeks before launch.
Me being as dense as I am naturally forgot and put the rest of my wage into my savings account and actually missed the charge.
That said… Seems like I won't be able to enjoy early access with yall, instead I'll be joining you on the 7th.
A bit of a bummer though.
Love the accent.
Love the vids.
I started in 1.0 since ARR I only have had my fourth or fifth toxic player today at 1am.
Amazing community much love and respect to all our warriors of light.
the level of toxicity in ff14 is unbeleavable low, its not even worth to mention
What server are you on, I'd love to get out of the FC I am in now, everyone is cold & distant
I've only ever had 2 bad interactions in the game. The first one was when I was a sprout tank in Haukke Manor and was basically being game illiterate to the point that I frustrated one of the other players. Looking back at it, I totally dont blame them at all. The other was on Shinryu as that is still my worst fight to date. I died so many times that I may as well have not been in the fight. The "mean" comment was "BRUH", lol
I camp level 15 dungeons to help speed que them to the next part of the game
Yesss! Now it's time to forge ahead and get the rest of the awards with Endwalker.
So well deserved!!! 😀 For me and many others, like yourself, the XIV Community caught me when i was falling endlessly in disappointment of WoW's current and probably future state. Every Day in WoW, even when playing keys with my best friends i really felt like "omg now there is still 5 more to do for weekly vault and i also have to do Torghast on 3 more alts >.<". I decided to give up on the game finally, after beating Castle Nathria Mythic Progress which was a pain alone to keep the guild saturated with players to even be able to raid at all. Like from SLG progress onwards i had to look for new trials constantly cuz ppl would quit which also dragged out progress even longer since new ppl had to learn strats etc. So i decided "F that! I'm quitting now cba"
So, when i came back to FF "full time", something changed with me that made me have so much fun in the game, that i just wanna keep playing almost every day for several hours just doing basic stuff like levelling and trying out a different Job or grinding out some Gold Saucer MGP. For once in like 10 years i feel like gaming is finally a hobby of mine again that brings me unending Joy with the great community it has. Therefor i will be forever grateful to yoshi-P and his team for making this game AND the critically acclaimed and NOW AWARD WINNING community such a wonderful place for everyone to feel welcome in. <3
The thing about toxicity in FFXIV vs in other games is the frequency.
When I tried LoL, in my first ever match against AI, I got yelled at and got told that I should delete the game. Every second match someone threw a tantrum and spewed shit all over the chat.
In WoW there was a kick or a flame at least two times a week.
Now I'm playing FFXIV for 3 years now and during that time I've met reportable truly shitty people like 4 times at tops.
I also tend to remember the negative comments more, but FFXIV helped me to give less importance to the negative things and appreciate the positive interactions more.
Poor YoshiP, he looks absolutely wrecked.
Beautifully said.
Thank you to the developers and our mentor Yoshi P for bringing us all together in this amazing journey.
And thank you to Soken and The Primals for filling our memories with their amazing music. 😍😍😍
Warriors of Light, see you on the Moon. 😘😘😘
Yo what datacenter do you play on? I'd love to stumble into you
i was rping and i said to bunny girl i prefer cats and i was playing a lalafell i said they are evil and they are pretending love everyone and the lalas are not fake and not evil and they are cute and then i got sat on wtf dude
Ahhhh, a game that doesn't require huge amounts of copium to play.
I know many people meme on this, but FF14 truly has the best community i have EVER seen and experienced in any game i have played in 15 years.
It is nice that you have great time with community in a streamer bubble, try sometimes do some content solo. That is right, due to rules we do not curse at each other, but people grown insecure and you literary cannot write anything criticizing others play, the other day i wrote "tank, can you please turn on tank stance, you are wiping whole party" and bunch of white knight friends jumped on me, "who am I to write something to theirs friend" and got kicked out of party wasteing almost hour of my time, ofc reported situation to gm and probably they did not get punished. It is not the only situation like this and I have heard of alot similiar situations. We may be all nice on the surface and streamers may think everyone is nice since they get such experience, but normal player do not have 7 people that will always follow him on any duty.
Sorry for mistakes, english is not my native language and yes I am always polite while giving in game advices.
Just remember, you are now part of the community, do us proud.
i always enjoy your videos Quazii <3
And now its time to aim for winning at least one category in the VIDEOGAME AWARDS
As a FFXIV vet since ARR launch, this is heartwarming to see how far we've come.
"Bad apples in the fruit basket" Hahaha I caught that.
I've only had 1 truly bad experience, when I was doing MSQ I had a trial that came up as part of the story I forget which. I was still a sprout and when I zoned in I said it was first time and one guy goes "you better have read the fight" I said no I was just doing MSQ and queued cause it told me to. He starting swearing and calling me a scrub loser, he pulled the boss and dropped group. About 3/4 of us died but we slowly rezzed everyone and proceeded to one shot the boss with everyone else reassuring me that guy was 1000% wrong and a total douche
niiiiiice! estatic they keep winning these awards 🙂
Im a male lalafell, i have an ingame mom, dad, brother and aunty XD best people I have ever met in a videogame, the community overall realy is awesome 👏
they're making history and legacy for future players for sure, proudest moment.
Gg, tyfp
FFXIV is the first and only MMO i ever played, so far. never played online games before this due to shite ISPs & home wifi coverage, until i decided to install ethernet cables around my home.
started off at Gridania, but when i came to Limsa Lominsa, at peak hours and saw ALL these players running around, dancing, playing a tune, chatting up, RPing, etc., something came over me; i teared up. for once, I am playing a video game, and i didn't feel alone.
now, my favourite past time while waiting in queue is to just sit down at LL or GS, and just watching the crowd, going through their day, admiring their minions or characters. i thought i'd shed enough tears over it, but when a player called me out in the crowd, and remembered me for being the last one standing in a 4-man dungeon boss, before being wiped out, my heart swelled up again.
sure, there were a few unsavory moments, but shit like this makes it damn therapeutic, and worth it for me.
Was running the Puppet Factory with the long P2 storyline and was the PLD Tank. Being new said “First time here”. Both healers in my Alliance Party goes “We got you”, “Don’t worry, we’ll make you look good”, then icon marked themselves and said when we move, just move with us. That Mechanica Raid was crazy intense, but the healers and group was so welcoming, that our group was often first to down one of three group bosses. That says so well of the FF14 community and to anyone who reads this playing a Healer also. It just makes you feel proud that YoshiP was able to accept yet another great Industry Award for excellence and community of a game we all love.and play as well all the players who each has a hand in shaping the great community.
@Quazii thank you for letting us casual normies who don't have that mutch time to keep up with know all these things that happen with and around FFXIV.<3
Everything you said about the FFXIV community was true of the WoW community in 2004. This was the time when the game was in its roughest state, and people who have never played MMOs were first joining. The game was alive. The guilds were alive. People would randomly help out if they saw low-levels in trouble out in the world, would happily give pointers in trade chat, would randomly donate low level blue items to passing strangers who were leveling.
This was before dps meters became commonly used. I remember our mage class leader saying that he thought meters were a terrible idea, because he knew most of the guild was very young (14-17ish) and if they had the numbers on the screen, it's all they'd be thinking about.
I agree that I first found it odd that no-one asked me to skip cutscenes when I was playing through MSQ, but now I realise that no-one asks to skip because they know it is worth watching them at least the first time.
I remember two days ago we did daily roulette for Trial and got the regular Hard Leviathan (you'll know in ShB why it's regular Leviathan) and none of us knew how the shield works, so we wiped about 4 times just trying to figure it out. Nobody was even remotely annoyed, or at least didn't show it, and when we finally got the timing right we celebrated for the rest of the fight.
