  1. Free trial of FF14 is a single player experience, you can't trade on the market, can't send mail or private messages – all like in any single player game, its made for people to see if they like story line and game play itself

  2. I've recently met a free trial player by happenchance and we slowly started to do content together to the point that now i just log in and just wait for them to log on. It amazes me how much effort a free trial requires, yet they score 100pts on fashion; do it every week as much as possible. Have great glams by gathering, farming, crafting and searching for the right pieces.
We hardly use teleports, every destination is via airships, mount travel from map to map.. It is easy how you forget to look at your surroundings and enjoy basic stuff when you can just buy everything off the MB and just teleport your way through the game.

Huge respect to any free trial player out there making the most of it!

  3. I started on the free trial a year ago, then bought the game after about 4-5 wks once I knew I liked it.
I found it remarkably easy to convert from FT to sub, especially so after hearing about how confusingly hard it was to buy. Maybe it's because I'm EU rather than NA, or maybe converting a FT account to a sub account is easier than creating an account from scratch… I don't know, but it worked fine for me.

  4. FT is compatible with sub, because a sub just lifts all restrictions.
the only downside known to me: once you sub you cannot scale back to FT and cannot decide to live with the restrictions.

  5. Personally, you should at least get to the end of the free trials story before making the full purchase just because it’s free anyway. Helps save money, I personally saved six/seven months of login fees because of it

  6. Ive been on the trial for a few months now and I've set myself the goal of doing everything I can to save on the subscription costs. I also don't have any friends who play the game so I have been going at it solo and it has been a lot of fun trying to do everything! Currently, my goals are going for a perfect racing chocobo, 60ing every class, and shooting for necromancer! Maybe in a few months when I get those done I will finally see what Stormblood has to offer!

  7. I'm a new player and I bought a complete edition after 10 hours of playing as a free too play player, I knew right away that the game was for me .. I was thrilled by the characters, the story and the music, the world and the best community … I just got into shadowbringers. .

  8. I recently started and "completed" (the MSQ) FF14.

I'd recommend staying as a free trial at least until level 50, possibly level 60. You're not missing out on much, but you'll be running out of inventory space so if you don't know what you should discard you should be getting retainers for storage.

  9. Tbh i am that person who didn't worry that much into social feature before somebody ask to join. Most of my regret after buying expansion and sub is I'm too worry about how long MSQ left until i done the Heavensward content. In fact, there is still extreme trials or savage raids to enjoy because i want to enjoy the challenge. You can said that i am the type that invest my time and my experience and really consider my sub into my spare time. Yet in my country is not that easy to make international payment and subs is not cheap

Maybe the hard part with Free Trial is the real deal of Disciple of Hand/Land grindings, which is you farm every material by yourself manually AND finish the Goldsmith and Leatherworker Quest which -spoiler-, needs that one particular materia if you had not play all the jobs. The rest is enjoyable

Oh yeah, the sole reason i'v decided to buy expansion/sub is, because of the GARO event which needs PVP item. That's all

  10. When I first started playing the game many years and expansions ago, the free trial let you play up to lvl30-ish, but you could buy the full game and keep your progress. Other than that, all same other restrictions applies today. But truth to be said, I did not had any need to use the market board when I started: there was way much more walking to learn before I could run to the moon (and beyond).

  11. I was on free trial until lv58 when i first started back in late 2020 when i left TERA console then i bought the complete game after . If you want to experience the story line, dont skip the free trial until lv60. Get the feels of trying it out before buying and sub to the game if ff14 is for you or not.

  13. I played as a free trial for almost a year until a couple of friends bought me the game. I had raised all classes to 60,gotten a bunch of achievements, played most extreme and savages and gotten the hw relics. So I can assure you that you can continue the game with your free trial character and you can do a lot as a free trial despite all the restrictions.

  14. I been playing free trial pretty much everyday day and only reason I’m not buying the full game rn is cuz I cant really pay the sub but at the same time heavenward is satisfying enough to where even with all the restrictions and all that ill continue play game everyday
and social restrictions I don’t mind personally cuz normally I’m anti social 90% of the time outside of dungeons/raids
