FFXIV Expansions Are BIG

Yeah… FF expansions are massive. The sheer amount of stuff that happens is insane.

  1. Personally I consider the sidequests in Elpis (and to a slightly lesser extent Ultima Thule) as part of the MSQ. 100% best done at the same time as the extra lore and colour is so good and so relevant.

  2. for EW, in the 86-87 zone when i was playing through during launch week, every 10 minutes or so someone would pipe up in shout chat just absolutely stunned with how good the game was

  3. I agree with Matt on the Final Fantasy games being stronger in end-game and better on the first fight with most mobs. Persona is a bit better in that regard, but can still end up in the same place sometimes.

  4. “I’m emotionally exhausted.” This is exactly what my friends, my fc and I were saying the whole time. It’s a good exhausting that I did and didn’t want a break from lol

  6. I've gotta ask, is going through 10 years of content over 1 year making the story more satiable than watching 15 years of story play out slowly? You haven't broken down multiple plot holes over and over again constantly between expansions. You're just enjoying the flow of a "full" story. JRPG talk means i gotta mention Legend of Dragoon!!!! that combat system was super unique and broke that basic turn base mechanic

  7. I completely disagree. Ffxiv expansions are usually very simple, small affairs. Once you get through the MSQ, there is very little content to do. Leveling crafters and gathers can be done In one day, maybe add a day for gearing and melding. After that there's almost nothing to do. Farm extreme fights I suppose, but once you've got gear it really is a situation where you just put the game down and go play something else while you wait for savage.
