  1. Oh my gosh Brian!!! 🥺 I’m sorry you felt so heartbroken with…. what was a shocking and terrible scene. There was so much tragedy in the Garlemald area. I was not expecting it and I’m sure you and many others weren’t either. But I’m glad you continued to fight the good fight! Well done you. 😉😘 Quick on figuring things out! 👍That ‘reaper mode’ voice reminds me of Zeus from Hades for some reason. 😂

PS: I wish I could follow your streams more often but my internet is being difficult….

  2. I cried and had to stop playing the game for a bit. I was hoping he could join us… but he truly believed in Garlemald and the Empire and believed all the propaganda… And sometimes there's nothing you can do…

  3. That area really went hard. It was depressing to know that this feels like a bit of an allegory for Japan in the end of WW2. Knowing that it was written by people who may only be a generation or two out from the actual events.

  4. I have to say, that scene in Garlemald… It broke me too. I tried to do the solo duty after, but I just couldn't. (I was actually streaming it too.) I just couldn't concentrate at all. All I could think was it and what happened to my uncle. I never knew that uncle (he died when my Dad was a teenager), but he did it. He ended his own life the SAME WAY as Quintus. After that scene and login out, I just broke down and couldn't stop for a long while.

So no, you're not alone in this. And I really wish someone had given me a trigger warning.

  5. The only thing about Endwalker that I think was less than excellent was the Garlemald part. Don't get me wrong…what is there is good, it just feels like it was cut short. Dealing with Garlemarld could've been an entire expansion. As a side note, "Mare Lamentorum" is Latin for "Sea of Sorrows". Zodiark was still severely underpowered because he was still sundered (he was missing at least 6 pieces still).

  6. Quintus' death really messed me up. I remember doing that quest and immediately getting up to take a shower just to… Get the feeling of hopelessness that quest gave me (I was screaming at the screen to just cut away and im still surprised they showed as much as they did).

I had the same reaction to the trial as you did! Glad you enjoyed the fight c:

  7. While most other games increase your rage and they purposely made to push the rage higher and higher, ffxiv affect your higher feelings like love, dignity, mercy, loyalty, etc. This is the most repected goal of ffxiv.

  8. I had a lot of the same reactions. I think that Quintis killing himself was the moment where I realized I'd be crying a lot this expansion. An absolute gut punch. I think it made the body swap section more stressful, cos I was worried the writers were not gonna pull their punches anymore. It is emotionally exhausting, but holy moly this writing is incredible. Bring tissues. And map /cry to your hotbar. You can thank me later
